Cary Katz Eliminated in 5th Place (€1,750,000)

Level 18 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Hand #95: From first position, James Bord open raised to 1.5 million. On the button Elton Tsang three-bet to 4 million and small blind Cary Katz called all in for 2,125,000. Rick Salomon folded his big blind and action was back on Bord.

"Hold on a second" Bord told his masseuse who consequently halted her work and took a step back. Bord tanked for about a minute or two before he folded.

"I thought you were making a move." Katz said as he showed his hand.

Cary Katz: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Elton Tsang: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

Katz had the best hand but all of that would change after the flop: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

Katz needed some help but wouldn't get any. The {3-Clubs} on the turn and {4-Clubs} on the river were both definitions of blanks and Katz said his goodbyes.

The four remaining players are guaranteed €2.1 million from here on out.

Hands #88-92: Salomon Shoves

Level 18 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante

Hand #88: A walk for Elton Tsang.

Hand #89 On the button Anatoly Gurtovoy opened to 1,500,000 and Elton Tsang smooth called from the small blind. Tsang called a bet of 2,000,000 on the {Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop and then led for 3,500,000 on the {10-Diamonds} turn. After a brief think Gurtovoy elected to fold.

Hand #90: It folded to Elton Tsang on the button and he moved all-in for an effective 6,350,000, both Cary Katz and Rick Salomon folded.

Hand #91: Elton Tsang raised to 1,300,000 from the cutoff, Cary Katz called on the button and Rick Salomon then moved all-in for 6,250,000. Tsang said, "I'll leave it to you man," and folded. Katz tanked for about a minute before folding what he told Salomon was Ace-Jack.

Hand #92: In a blind on blind battle James Bord opened to 1,300,000 and Anatoly Gurtovoy smooth called. On the {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop Bord bet 1,800,000 and Gurtovoy stuck around. The {Q-Spades} turn was checked through and the {K-Diamonds} completed the board. No checking this time as Bord bet 2,500,000, Gurtovoy raised to 6,500,000 and Bord folded.

Hand #75: Elton Tsang was the aggressor once more, as he opened to 1,300,000 from the hijack. Action folded to Andrew Pantling, who was the big blind, and he moved all-in for 3,325,000 total. Tsang asked for a count and then called.

Pantling: {K-Spades}{3-Spades}
Tsang: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop left Pantling drawing thin, the {4-Clubs} turn card gave him a straight draw, but he missed it on the {8-Spades} river. So, Pantling is the first player out in the money, but he did have a re-buy meaning he needed a fourth place finish or higher to show a profit.

Hand #74: Katz Shoves on Tsang

Level 18 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante

Hand #74: Cary Katz wasted little time in putting his chips to use as, on the very next hand, he shoved all-in. Elton Tsang opened to 1,300,000 and Katz then jammed for 6,325,000 total. Tsang got a count and Katz said: "You've got three out."

A few seconds passed and Tsang replied. "I believe you man," and showed {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} as he folded. Katz was telling the truth as he flashed {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} as he took the pot.

Level 18 : 300,000/600,000, 100,000 ante

Hand #73: Action folded around to Cary Katz in the small blind and he announced he's all in. Brandon Steven was the big blind. He checked his cards and called. "I didn't even look" Katz said, keeping his cards face down for the moment. Steven turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, the Katz showed {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} putting him in a good spot against Steven's hand.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Neither player connected, and Katz won with his big slick. Steven was all in for 2,400,000, and Katz just barely had him covered. Katz nearly doubled up, and Steven was eliminated on the bubble.

Each of the remaining six players is guaranteed a payout of at least €1,500,000.

Gurtovoy showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for trips and Tsang mucked.

Hand #72: Action folded to Elton Tsang in the small blind. He looked over at Cary Katz's stack, then told Katz, "I like you, man" and folded his cards.
