It's a beautiful day here in Tampa, Florida and the 2014 PPC North America Championship at Tampa Downs will see cards in the air within the next hour. This event has four different starting flights and if a player wishes they can play all four of them and take their best stack with them into day two, which will be on Sunday.

PPC Team Pro Alex Outhred is here and past winners of PPC events include the likes of Norbert Kara, Jordan Wunder, Tom Gleason, and Rick Sowers. The top four in this Main Event will earn $5,000 packages out of the prize pool towards entries and travel to PPC Aruba in October of this year at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa. Eddie Kofler was the winner of the very first Main Event held here at Tampa Downs in July of 2013. He took home an impressive $33,952 for that victory. Kofler, a former minor league pitcher in the Tampa Devil Rays system, is back in action here today looking to repeat his performance from last year. He's all smiles right now as we get set to wrap up the first hour of play.
