Alex Yazbeck Thriving Early On

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Not long ago, the Yazbeck family made headlines at The Star Sydney when Mark was joined by his two sons Alex and Patrick on the final table of an event of the current series. Mark also took part in the $5k Challenge and is in action today, as is Alex who already more than doubled his stack.

In a recent hand, 7,500 chips went in preflop and Peter Karam had one 5,000 chip behind to the {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop. Yazbeck jammed and Karam folded.

Marsland Jams Into Pongrass

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The vacated seat of Ryan Bownds was filled by Jack Lee while Matt Pongrass and Dale Marsland were involved in the action in a battle cutoff versus button. On the {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Pongrass bet 525 and Marsland called to see the {q-Clubs} turn. Pongrass bet 1,500 after some consideration and picked up a call to fire a third barrel for 4,200 on the {5-Hearts} river.

Marsland moved all in and Pongrass quickly folded, then said in table chat to Rehman Kassam "that's how quickly ace-jack goes into the muck." The same table also features Craig Blight as well.

Shutka Jams Up Stack

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Hamish Crawshaw has already more than doubled his stack and his table also features Shivan Abdine, who was just involved in the action. Facing a raise to 400 and a call by three players, Abdine in the big blind made it 2,600 to go. The initial raiser and Michael Oscuro folded, but Sergey Shutka had other plans and moved all in.

Abdine sent his cards into the muck and Shutka chipped up without showdown.

Crawshaw cashed in this very event one year ago and ran deep in the 2019 Aussie Millions Main Event earlier this year, in which he earned a payday of A$242,000 for his 7th place finish.
