Nine Return at 2:15 PM to Battle it Out for the A$20,000 High Roller Champ Title

Tom Rafferty
Tom Rafferty

Welcome back to the final day of the A$20,000 High Roller here at The Star Sydney Champs with nine players returning to the felt to battle it out. All nine players will have two goals in mind, first to make it into the money. Second, to be victorious and take the lion-share of the A$703,000 prize pool home with them as the winner will walk away with A$316,350 and the amazing trophy.

Coming back into the final table at 2:15 p.m. local time with the chip lead is Tom Rafferty with 469,500 in chips. He is followed by Ebon Bokody who bagged 429,000 last night with Vincent Huang in third place with 240,000 in chips. These three players are the only ones to have bagged an above-average stack.

Gautam Dhingra, Sean Ragozinni, and Michael Egan all bagged around 40 big blinds so they are probably not worried yet as they have enough to work with still. Mladen Vukovic, Hun Wei “Andy” Lee, and Matthew Wakeman bagged a below 20 big blind stack so they will be trying to run their shorter stacks up from the get-go.

When the players return, they will finish the last six minutes of Level 12 which features a small blind of 2,000, big blind of 4,000, and a big blind ante of 4,000. Play will continue until a champion has been crowned with a 10-minute break after every two levels as level duration has increased to 60 minutes each. A live stream will be available again via the Run It Up Twitch channel with commentary by Ricky “RatedGTO” Guan and Jimmy “untitled2jc” Cappucci with the hole cards on a security delay.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be from the moment the shoe will be loaded until the final hand has been dealt with the usual live updates. So, keep following the updates to see who will be crowned the High Roller Champ down under.

Sean Ragozzini: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Vukovic Eliminated by Ragozzini

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mladen Vukovic
Mladen Vukovic

Mladen Vukovic raised to 10,000 from the hijack and Sean Ragozzini on the button three-bet to 30,000. Vukovic carefully checked his remaining stack and made the call. On the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, Vukovic checked and Ragozzini made it 20,000 to go, which resulted in a reluctant call by Vukovic.

After the {8-Hearts} turn, Vukovic checked again and Ragozzini checked back to see the {7-Spades} on the river. Vukovic moved all in for 96,500 and Ragozzini snap-called to table his {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a set of queens. Vukovic wanted to muck but as per all in showdown rule, his {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} was exposed.

Vukovic was eliminated only a few minutes after his double up and Ragozzini jumped into a comfortable third place with seven remaining and the top four spots paid.

Huang Busts Dhingra in Battle of Blinds

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Gautam Dhingra
Gautam Dhingra

The action folded to Gautam Dhingra in the small blind and he moved all in for the last 88,000. Vincent Huang in the big blind had him covered and made the call to put Dhingra at risk.

Gautam Dhingra: {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Vincent Huang: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Nothing changed on the {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop but Dhingra took the lead on the {5-Spades} turn. It would be the {q-Spades} on the river that restored the preflop order as Huang made a pair of queens to eliminate Dhingra and reduce the field to the final six.

Egan Doubles Through Rafferty

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Michael Egan three-bet jammed on the button for 186,000 and initial raiser Tom Rafferty quickly called from under the gun.

Michael Egan: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Tom Rafferty: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The {4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop changed nothing whatsoever and Egan remained with two outs to avoid his fate as the bubble boy. One of the two remaining queens showed up on the {q-Clubs} turn to vault Egan into the lead and the {4-Diamonds} river was a blank to let Egan double on the bubble in dramatic fashion.
