In two hours from now as of 1 p.m. local time, cards will be back in the air for Day 2 of the 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series Manila HK$ 1,000,000 Main Event ($128,800) at the exclusive Solaire Resort and Casino in the capital of the Philippines. So far, 29 unique players and nine re-entries created a 38-entry strong field, but the registration remains open until level 10 kicks in with blinds of 4,000-8,000 and a running ante of 1,000.

After nine levels of 60 minutes each, 23 players bagged up chips last night and 2016 Big One For One Drop Extravaganza champion Elton Tsang in the lead. He is the only player above one million so far with 1,004,000, followed by Macau high-stakes player Paul Phua (796,000), and HK$ 250,000 6-Max Event champion Daniel Colman, who is looking for back-to-back wins here in Manila after claiming 769,000 on Day 1 of the Main Event. Colman defeated Erik Seidel two days ago for his third six-digit score in 2017, banking HK$ 3,641,600 (approximately $473,408).

Colman will receive his trophy on Tuesday, presented by Hublot, the official timekeeper of the high-stakes festival. Other notables that made it through with above-average stacks in a star-studded field include Peter Chan (685,000), 2016 Triton Suncity Cup winner Dan Cates (609,000), Pratyush Buddiga (560,000), Sergio Aido (520,000) and Jack Salter (470,000). They are joined by the likes of Mustapha Kanit (343,000), Founder of Triton Richard Yong (340,000), defending Main Event champion Wai Kin Yong (244,000), John Juanda (240,000), Phil Ivey (231,000) and 6-Max third-place finisher Rainer Kempe (186,000).

All players that opt to re-enter before the start of Day 2 or join the competition for the first time will receive 250,000 in chips and the prize pool information will be finalized once the registration has closed. The penultimate day of the tournament is scheduled to play down to the official final table of the last eight before then determining the Triton Super High Roller Manila champion tomorrow as of 1 p.m. local time.

Make sure to tune back in regularly as the PokerNews live reporting team will be there to provide all the action.

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Richard Yong
Richard Yong

A personalized golden iPhone was next to table two and belongs to Founder of Triton Richard Yong. It won't tell any good news to friends, as Yong has just busted in a big pot after four-betting into Sergio Aido to let the Spaniard jump into second place.

Yong opened the action with a raise to 20,000 and Aido three-bet from the cutoff to 53,000. Yong shoved for more than 300,000 and Aido snap-called for a reason.

Richard Yong: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Sergio Aido: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Yon was sent to the rail early on Day 2.

Seidel Busts to Salter

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Jack Salter limped in from the cutoff and Erik Seidel did so from the button, Phil Ivey filled up in the small blind and Peter Chan checked. On the {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Ivey bet 20,000 and Chan folded, Salter called and Seidel moved all in for his last 52,000. Ivey folded, but Salter snap-called.

Erik Seidel: {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Jack Salter: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The {K-Clubs} turn and {Q-Clubs} river were both blanks and Seidel was eliminated, the remaining 16 players will now get balanced to the last two tables.

After folding the next two hands, Yu Liang was then all in for his last 12,000, less than a big blind, in the hijack. Phil Ivey min-raised to 32,000 from the button and the blinds folded.

Yu Liang: {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}
Phil Ivey: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The flop of {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} left Liang in desperate shape needing running sevens for quads. It was not meant to be, as the {3-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} river completed the board.

Aido Turns up the Heat and Busts Peters

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Sergio Aido raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and Elton Tsang called on the button. David Peters in the small blind three-bet to 145,000 with around 300,000 behind and the action folded back to Aido. The Spaniard gave it some thought and then announced all in, sliding forward a tower of chips that had Peters covered.

Tsang folded with the words "I was gonna go all in if you didn't" and Peters quickly called.

David Peters: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Sergio Aido: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} was safe for Peters, but Aido picked up a straight draw on the {8-Hearts} turn. Sure enough, the {7-Spades} fell on the river to complete the jack-high straight and Peters was eliminated.

Paul Phua started the day as one of the big stacks, but the chips kept disappearing until just 150,000 remained. He then faced a raise to 35,000 by Sergio Aido and Phua moved all in from the big blind, picking up a snap-call by the dominating chip leader.

Paul Phua: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Sergio Aido: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The board of {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} ensured that the kicker played and Aido sent the second player to the rail in a row, further boosting his already massive stack.

Juanda Eliminated by Yong

John Juanda
John Juanda

Defending Triton Super High Roller Series Manila Main Event champion Wai Kin Yong went from a tiny stack of just 44,000 to one of the chip leaders within just one hour, and just knocked out John Juanda.

Yong raised to 45,000 in the cutoff and Juanda pushed for his last 314,000 in the small blind. "Show me ace ten, I have outs against that," Juanda said and his wish was granted.

John Juanda: {K-Spades}{8-Spades}
Wai Kin Yong: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop left Juanda in desperate shape and his eliminated was confirmed with the {7-Clubs} turn. "Not giving me any sweat," Juanda said as he grabbed his belongings, and the {10-Clubs} river completed the board.

Pratyush Buddiga
Pratyush Buddiga

The unofficial final table is set and history repeated for Pratyush Buddiga, who bubbled the Main Event last November here at the Solaire Resort and Casino. Koray Aldemir opened to 44,000 from the cutoff and Buddiga shoved his short stack of less than 17 big blinds out of the small blind, Aldemir called.

Pratyush Buddiga: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Koray Aldemir: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The board came {Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and the pair of sixes held up to eliminate Buddia and set up the unofficial nine-handed final table.

Daniel Colman
Daniel Colman

Daniel Colman won't be winning back-to-back tournaments here in Manila after emerging victorious in the 6-Max Event, but the hopes of Wai Kin Yong to defend his Main Event title are still alive and kicking.

Colman open-shoved for his last 200,000 from middle position and the action folded to Dan Cates in the big blind, who peeked at his cards and called.

Daniel Colman: {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Dan Cates: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

After a board of {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, both hit their kicker and Colman bowed out in 9th place, two off the money.

Aldemir Looks Through Yong's Big Bet Poker

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

The action started rather innocent with a raise to 54,000 by Koray Aldemir in the hijack and Wai Kin Yong three-bet to 144,000 from two seats over on the button. Aldemir called once the action folded back to him, and the duo saw a flop of {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Aldemir quickly checked and Yong bet 82,000, which Aldemir called.

On the {9-Spades} turn, Aldemir again checked very quickly and Yong made it 230,000 to go, which Aldemir called after some consideration.

The {J-Hearts} river completed the board and a third quick check by Aldemir followed.

"Can I see your stack?" Yong asked and Aldemir had around 890,000 behind. Yong fired a hefty 600,000 and that sent Aldemir into the think tank. Several minutes passes, Aldemir even asked the dealer once how much the bet was while Elton Tsang said "Wai Kin Poker ... Dot Com."

Aldemir eventually called and Yong tapped the table with the words "good call", before rolling over {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Aldemir turned over {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for ace-king high and that let out several gasps by the other players at the table.
