Paul Phua Eliminated in 8th Place (HKD3,295,000/$419,750)

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante
Paul Phua
Paul Phua

Paul Phua moved all in for just 245,000 with the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Xuan Tan reshoved in the cutoff with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and both players chopped it up.

Phua then moved all in for 275,000 with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Rui Cao reshoved for 5.3 million with {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. The board of {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} reduced the field to the last seven hopefuls and they will now redraw to the unofficial final table.

Phua was eliminated in 8th place for HKD3,295,000 ($419,750).

Phua Even Shorter

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

Xuan Tan raised to 145,000 with the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Rui Cao came along with the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Paul Phua called with {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The trio checked the {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop and the {K-Spades} came on the turn. Cao bet and won the pot.

Phua Gets Short on Feature Table

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

The stack of Paul Phua has taken several hits over on the feature table and in one of the most recent hands he folded queen-ten to a bigger bet on the {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop. In fact it was a decent fold, as Tan had {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for the full house.

Devan Tang Eliminated in 9th Place (HKD3,295,000/$419,750)

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante
Devan Tang
Devan Tang

Over on the outer table, Phil Ivey limped in from the hijack and Devan Tang on the button raised to 215,000. Ivey moved all in and Tang called for just over a million in chips.

Devan Tang: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Phil Ivey: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Tang took the lead on the {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {9-Hearts} turn changed nothing. Tang asked the dealer to slowly turn over the river card, and his request was granted ... only to reveal the cruel {J-Spades} that improved Ivey to a straight.

Tang was eliminated in 9th place for HKD3,295,000 ($419,750) and after the next elimination, the redraw for the unofficial final table will take place.

Quads for Cao

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

In a limped pot on the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Rui Cao bet 200,000 with the {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Xuan Tan called with the {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. On the {7-Spades} turn both players checked and Cao spiked the {Q-Diamonds} on the river for quads.

Cao bet 250,000 and Tan just called with the nut flush to win a pot that could have become much bigger.

Tang Loses Some; Jams After

Level 13 : 0/0, 20,000 ante

Devan Tang lost a portion of his stack after the double up on the feature table when Phil Ivey made a straight with {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} on the board of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Right after, Jason Koon raised to 150,000 and Peter Jetten called in the cutoff. Tang shoved for 1,055,000 on the button and both opponents folded, Jetten did so after using one time bank extension.
