One of the most popular and certainly the most unique event on the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro festival bursts into action from 12:00 p.m. local time. We are, of course, talking about the $200,000 Triton Invitational.

A field of 96 entrants, made up of 48 poker professionals and 48 invitees, will go to battle over the next couple of days. Day 1 sees the signature separate fields format, where the seasoned pros lock horns and butt heads in one room, and the invited players face off in another.

All 96 players will compete across ten 50-minute levels before the pros and invitees combine on Day 2.

The prize pool topped $26,600,000 in this event last year, after 37 re-entries were processed in addition to the 96 entrants. Aleksa Pavicevic was the last player standing. They defeated Seth Davies heads-up to capture the colossal $6,180,000 top prize.

Pavicevic is back in Montenegro to attempt a title defense. Doing so is a tall order given the field's sheer quality, but stranger things have happened in the poker world.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for updates from the $200,000 Triton Invitational and from all other events making up the Montenegro schedule.
