Davies sits atop the 26 Day 1 survivors with 951,000 in chips, narrowly ahead of Miroslav Atanasov (888,000), while Jean-Noel Thorel (700,000) rounds out the top three. The event has attracted 58 entries so far, generating an $8,700,000 prize pool, although those numbers will grow with late registration open until play resumes.
Davies has already enjoyed an impressive trip to Jeju, reaching two final tables during the series, including a third-place finish in the $200,000 Invitational for $3,470,000. He surged into the lead late on Day 1 after making a river flush against Thorel and extracting maximum value from the Frenchman.
Atanasov will begin the day within striking distance of Davies after wasting little time recovering from his elimination in 12th place in the $100,000 Main Event. He jumped almost immediately into the Anniversary Special and finished Day 1 with the second-largest stack.

Play resumes on Level 11 with blinds of 5,000/10,000 and a 10,000 big blind ante, and will continue until the 10th Anniversary Special has its champion.
