Zervos Leaves Sitbon With Fumes

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

"I am curios to know what you limped with," Alexios Zervos in the big blind said while he stared at the TV screen that showed the match between Manchester City and Liverpool.

The board showed {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Zervos had bet 365,000 while Julien Sitbon was in the tank. What followed was the very reluctant call by Sitbon, who mucked to the {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} of Zervos and dropped to just five blinds.

Julien Sitbon Eliminated in 6th Place (£24,242)

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

One hand after dropping to a severe short stack, Julien Sitbon was in the big blind and one fifth of his stack was gone by paying the big blind ante. Rickie Vedhara raised the button to 225,000 and Sitbon defended.

"This is probably my last hand," he said in French to his girlfriend on the rail.

The flop fell {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Sitbon mulled it over for a few seconds before jamming, Vedhara called in a heartbeat.

Julien Sitbon: {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Rickie Vedhara: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {8-Spades} turn provided an unexpected sweat but the {5-Spades} river was of no help to send Sitbon to the rail in 6th place for £24,242.

Zervos Folds Almost the Top of His Range

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

James Rann raised the button and Rickie Vedhara called out of the big blind. On the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop, Vedhara check-called for 100,000 and the {7-Clubs} turn was checked by both. Vedhara also checked the {6-Diamonds} river and Rann bet 550,000 to win the pot uncontested.

Up next, Vedhara limped the small blind and Alexios Zervos raised to 335,000 for Vedhara to call. The {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop brought a check by Vedhara, a bet worth 175,000 by Zervos and the call.

The {8-Hearts} turn was checked and Vedhara bet big for 1,200,000 on the {9-Diamonds} river.

"That's a bad card for me and I am top of the range almost," Zervos sighed in table chat. He then gave it more thought and admitted not to be at the very top of said range.

Ten seconds later, he conceded the pot with the words "take it" as he flashed the {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

Dimsa Doubles Through Zervos

Lukas Dimsa
Lukas Dimsa

Alexios Zervos raised out of the small blind and Lukas Dimsa defended the big blind. The {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop was checked by Zervos and Dimsa bet 200,000. Zervos then check-raised to 620,000 for Dimsa to shove and the sigh-call by Zervos followed.

Alexios Zervos: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs} turn and {k-Hearts} on the river kept Dimsa in contention as he doubled for 1,940,000

Boulton's Big Hero Call is Restores the Lead

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Lukas Dimsa raised to 200,000 in the cutoff and Joshua Boulton called in the small blind. Rickie Vedhara then raised to 850,000 out of the big blind for Dimsa to fold, while Boulton reluctantly called.

They checked all the way to the {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades} river on which Boulton checked. Vedhara bet 650,000 and that sent Boulton deep into the tank. Alexios Zervos waited four minutes until he called the clock on Boulton, apologising "sorry guys but I only have seven blinds."

Boulton was given 30 seconds to act and he called during that time. Vedhara tabled the {a-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a bluff and Boulton had that beat with the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens.

Alexios Zervos Eliminated in 5th Place (£31,511)

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Alexios Zervos

After forfeiting the big blind to a button raise by Joshua Boulton, the far shortest stack of Alexios Zervos went into the middle for what appeared to be 680,000 and Lukas Dimsa called in the big blind.

Alexios Zervos: {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Lukas Dimsa: {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop provided a lifeline for Zervos with the gutshot but he bricked the {2-Spades} turn and {2-Clubs} river.

"What did you have?" he asked Rickie Vedhara, who replied "king ten" with a heart. "Good bet," Zervos conceded before heading to the payout desk to collect £31,511 for his efforts.

Small Pots With Four Left

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Joshua Boulton raised the button to 220,000 and Lukas Dimsa three-bet to 725,000 out of the big blind in order to win the pot right there.

Dimsa then raised to 225,000 on the button and James Rann three-bet to 800,000 in the small blind, collecting the pot without resistance.

Break for the Final Four Players

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

The last four players are on a scheduled 15-minute break. Once they get down to the final three contenders, the level duration will be cut in half once the next level gets underway.

In the penultimate hand before the break, James Rann opened to 200,000 first to act and Lukas Dimsa defended the big blind before check-folding the {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop to a bet of 175,000.

Last but not least, Rickie Vedhara made it 200,000 to go on the button and was called by Dimsa as well as Rann in the blinds. They checked on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop and a bet by Vedhara on the {2-Hearts} turn won the pot.

Vedhara Doubles Into the Lead

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Rickie Vedhara
Rickie Vedhara

James Rann limped the first hand after the break and Joshua Boulton checked his option in the big blind. They checked the {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, Rann bet the {a-Hearts} turn for 140,000 and Boulton asked.

Both checked the {k-Clubs} on the river and Rann's {j-Spades}{9-Hearts} was no good as Boulton had that beat with the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

In the next hand, Boulton limped the small blind and Rickie Vedhara raised to 420,000 total. Some 30 seconds passed and Boulton then moved all-in with the covering stack to send his opponent into the tank.

Vedhara went through all combinations with visible motion and he eventually called it off for more than 30 blinds.

Rickie Vedhara: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Joshua Boulton: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

The mighty ducks remained ahead on the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop but that changed on the {a-Clubs} turn. No deuce but the {5-Diamonds} fell on the river, shipping a large double for 3,490,000 to Vedhara.
