Welcome to Day 1b of the PokerStars UKIPT Blackpool Main Event, running at Grosvenor Casino at The Sandcastle. This is the second of three flights and will begin at 12 p.m local time.
In exchange for their buy-in of £1,100, players will recieve a 30,000 chips, which is a 300 big blind starting stack. Blinds start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and levels progress every 40-minutes, with regular breaks throughout the day.
Day 1b will play down to 15 percent of the field and those who survive will make it through to Day 2 and into the money. It is expected to be the busiest of the flights. Day 1c is also running tonight at 6 p.m. local time and will feature turbo 20-minute blind levels.
Players can opt to have up to three entries per flight.
Sam Grafton finished Day 1a as chip leader with 342,000, followed by Dale Hancock in second and Jessica Pilkington in third. Whether they remain at the top of the counts will depend on the outcome of the flights still to come.
The UKIPT Blackpool Main Event runs until Sunday night, at which point a new champion will be crowned.

Day 1b of the PokerStars UKIPT Blackpool Main Event is now underway. It's time to shuffle up and deal.
Wendy Watson raised from middle position and got called by Tim Chung, Marian Dumitrache in the small blind and the player in the big blind.
The flop ran out 2♥3♠8♦ and action checked to Watson, who bet 1,300. Only Chung made the call and two players went to the turn.
The turn came the K♠ and both players checked. The river was the 7♣ and both players checked again. Watson showed 9♠9♦ for a pocket pair of nines. Chung mucked his hand and Watson scooped an early pot.

Action folded around to Vitalie Grecul, who raised from the hijack. Daniel Jackson reraised from the big blind and Grecul called.
The flop came 5♥9♣A♠. Grecul checked and Jackson bet 2,100, which Grecul called.
The turn was the Q♠. Grecul checked again and Jackson bet 3,500. Grecul chose not to continue and Jackson won the pot.

Day 1b of the Main Event has reached 61 entries so far, which is far more than the numbers early on in Day 1a. This is expected to be the busiest flight of the tournament.
