Nuez Loses Most of Stack, Then Doubles Up
Hand 1
Paul Tait pushed 620,000 into the middle, leaving just 100,000 behind. Guillermo Nuez tanked for a long time, then used the Lord's name in vain, saying "Jesus Christ!", before finally making his decision and setting Tait in for the remaining 100,000. Tait called and players flipped their cards.
Paul Tait: Q♣Q♠
Guillermo Nuez: A♠10♣
The board ran out 3♠2♦5♦5♥9♦. Tait held with his pocket queens to win the pot and double up his stack. Nuez was left with just 400,000.
Hand 2
The next hand, Nuez raised to 350,000, leaving just 50,000 behind. Patrice Brandt put him all in from the big blind and players flipped their cards.
Patrice Brandt: A♥10♥
Guillermo Nuez: K♠Q♠
The board ran out 5♥J♠10♦6♠A♠. "Phew!", said Nuez as the river brought him a straight. That brought Nuez back up to 1,200,000.
