Woodhead's Main Event Dream Melts Away With Snowmen, Gets Needled by Friends

Joshua Boulton made it 8,000 to go in the hijack and Keith Cummins three-bet to 24,000 in the cutoff. Stephen Woodhead called off his stack of 18,500 from the button, and Thomas Cazaletz shoved for around 60,000 out of the small blind. Both Boulton and Cummins folded.

Woodhead's suits were even covered by the aces of his opponnet, and he didn't find any help from the 3♥7♥7♣2♥9♥ runout, which meant he was eliminated.

Woodhead's friends were standing by the table railing their friend, and couldn't help but needle him when he was eliminated.

"You don't have to come, mate. You can stay here and play some poker," they said as Woodhead stood up from his seat.

The pot had already swollen to around 80,000 on a board of 6♣4♦Q♥3♠ when Stephen Gray shoved the turn, which put Vincent Meli to the test for his remaining stack of just over 70,000. After thinking it over, Meli decided to commit his chips, which left him at risk.

On a flop of 10♥A♥7♦ with around 18,000 in the middle, Zhicheng Miao checked from the big blind and Stephen Cherry fired 5,000 from early position. Miao clicked it to 10,500, and Cherry called.

A 4♦ dropped on the turn and Miao shoved, then Cherry snap-called for his stack of 37,500.

A cooler of a flop saw Cherry flop a set, and Miao hit top two pair. It was inevitable that the chips would find themselves in the middle, and the 9♣ river meant Cherry's set held up.
