Adeniya Up...

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Martins Adeniya
Martins Adeniya

Rational Group Staff member Michael Josem opened to 2,500 preflop and was called by Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Martins Adeniya. Dominic Evans then squeezed, moving all for 12,400 but Josem and Adeniya both called.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Josem checked. Adeniya bet 10,000 which brought about a quick folded.

Adeniya flipped {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a flopped full house and Evans was already getting up out of his seat whilst turning over {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. The {10-Hearts} turn and {2-Diamonds} could not deliver a miracle and Adeniya added more chips to his stack.

And Then You're Down...

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Thomas van Veelen was in check-call mode against Martins Adeniya on a {9-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board. The Dutch player called bets of 2,300 and 6,100 on the flop and turn before also checking the river.

Adeniya thought look and hard about unloading the clip but decided to check behind. Van Veelen turned over {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and that was enough to win the pot.

Jonat Flops The Joint

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Christopher Jonat, a Rational Group Staff member, finished 4th at this event last year and he just received a healthy double up through one of the big stacks at the table. They had got to the turn of a board reading {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades} and when Jonat faced a bet he moved all in and got a call.

Jonat had flopped near enough the nuts with his {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and facing the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} he just had to fade seven outs. The river card was the {4-Diamonds} and a big pot went his way.

Zhang Finds the Right Club

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Jamie Martin was all in preflop with {K-Hearts}{8-Spades} against Guoxiao Zhang's {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} but the board came {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Martin flopped top pair only to be rivered by the babiest of baby flushes.

Zhang moved up to 70,000 as a resul.

Jake Cody
Jake Cody

PokerStars Team Pro Jake Cody is up to 57,000 after he knocked out Werner Soames. The board was reading {Q-}{8-}{8-}{J-}{10-Hearts} where Soames called all in with {K-}{J-} but found he'd spiked the case jack on the turn as Cody had {J-}{J-}.

Baker Cooking with Gas

Tournament Room
Tournament Room

Matthew Baker has taken a big chip lead after knocking out Chris Jonat, a member of the Rational Group Staff who made the final here last year.

All the chips went in on a {7-}{8-}{4-} flop, Baker's {7-}{7-} holding on against Jonat's {K-}{K-} for what looked like a pot worth over 100,000.

Baker looks to be the chip leader at this point.

Mistake Saves Pagano

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Luca Pagano
Luca Pagano

Luca Pagano had opened preflop before a reraise came in middle position to 5,700. Thomas Gill then pushed from the button but neither Pagano or the dealer had seen the shove and Pagano put out the call to 5,700.

The floor was called and a ruling was made that Pagano could either fold or call the shove.

"Can I raise?" asked Pagano.

"I'm afraid not, it would be a string raise," was the reply.

Pagano laughed as he thought, "This is so weird..." The Italian sighed then folded. The third player quickly folded as well and Gill showed {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. "I had queens," said Pagano, perhaps thinking the action had saved him some money.
