Bjorkman and Polunin Eliminated

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Just before the end of the level, Soren Bjorkman and Viacheslav Polunin have been eliminated. The latter had flopped bottom set with pocket sixes on a flop of {Q-}{10-}{6-} and Morgan Wald pushed on the {10-} turn with {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. "I got lucky, another queen came on the river," Wald said.

Elvevold Thriving

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the three-way flop {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}, the action was checked to Asbjorn Elvevold in the big blind and he bet 1,500. Thomas Sandvik called on the button and then Christophe van Schependom check-raised to 4,000. Elvevold clicked to 11,500 and Sandvik quickly folded while van Schependom called.

The {A-Spades} on the turn saw van Schependom check-call a bet of 10,000 rather quickly and both players then checked the {2-Spades} river. Van Schependom would have been the first to show after the button, but Elvevold had already turned over his {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for a set of eights that turned into an eight-high flush. The Belgian nodded and mucked his cards to give the pot to Elvevold.

Baltus Busts Schepers

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

The full details are not known, but Emmanuel Schepers had no luck with table one and seat one after sending over his stack to table neighbor David Baltus. Schepers apparently had {A-}{Q-} and Baltus an easy decision with pocket aces.

Puczylowski Above Starting Stack

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

After being involved in a bigger pot on level one, Marcin Puczylowski had been dropping down in chips and just now got them back. With the board reading {3-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, the Pole fired 4,200 into a pot of 15,000 and Bjorn Geleyn called to see the {Q-Hearts} appear on the river.

Puczylowski basically moved all in for 10,300, though left himself 25 chips behind to protect his cards. Geleyn sighed loudly and then eventually let go with a stack of around 17,000 chips behind.

Up and Down for Goosens

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Guy Goosens has not been playing a lot of poker lately and just started again with the Unibet Open in his home country coming at a perfect time to do so. The Belgian bet the river of a {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board for 2,000 and his opponent called eventually to see Goosens turn over {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for two pair. The opponent then flipped over his {10-Clubs}{7-Spades} for trips sevens and pointed at the board "flush" as reason for not having raised.

Goosens had been up early on and now lost some of the profit, the Belgian is still above starting stack, though.

More than 100 Entries

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

The screens currently show 107 entries and among the latest entrants were the two Dutchmen Pieter de Korver and Jasper Wetemans, who just participated in the Master Classics of Poker the other week and made the short trip over to Belgium. De Korver mentioned in social media that this will be his 17th Unibet Open and he is looking for a deep run.

Naalden Down

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Bastian Hagenbeuk is among the early bigger stacks after turning a full house while fellow Dutchman Marc Naalden has taken the different route. Naalden checked the river of a board {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} with about 12,000 chips in the pot. His opponent Morgan Wald then looked at the dealer, announced all in and then nodded again when the dealer made sure he heard it correctly.

Naalden quickly folded and lost more than one third of his stack already.

Three Barrels from Koop

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

After a raise to 250 and a call, Niko Koop squeezed to 950 in the small blind. Only the initial raiser called and they headed to a flop of {8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. A small continuation bet was made by Koop but his opponent called and did so again for 2,750 on the {K-Hearts} turn. Koop then quickly fired 4,500 on the [Ad[ river and his opponent folded eventually.
