Harkes with Heaps

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Without much notice, Peter Harkes has amassed a stack of 92,000 chips and is among the current leaders half an hour before the dinner break. Frank op the Woerd will be catching up with the fellow Dutchman in a bit to give us a rundown of what happened so far.

Prusov Doubles

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Next to big stack Joachim Kleiven, one of the Unibet Poker qualifiers was all in and at risk for his last 7,900 chips on a five-way flop of {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}. It was Dmitrii Prusov and his shove with {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} got called by Robin Lacey. The Irishman said "nines again" and turned over his {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} only to see the dealer burn and turn the {8-Clubs} and {K-Hearts} as final community cards.

Grelot Grilled

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

A familiar name appeared on the bustout list: Amaury Grelot. The Team Online pro of Unibet usually plays speed SNG with 20 big blinds or less, thus tournaments are not really his daily dose of poker. The Frenchman four-bet jammed starting stack with {A-}{K-} and got called by an opponent in the big blind with pocket queens to miss the board completely.

Big Clash on Table Three

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Arriving to the table with the {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Spades} turn spread, Eric Abbas moved all in for 12,900 into a pot of what looked like 23,000. Kanstantsin Kamenka made the call from a few seats over and Fred Weiss then reshoved for 32,900. Abbas looked stunned, stood up and grabbed his jacket already.

Kamenka needed some time but made the call eventually for the additional 20,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for two pair. Abbas was drawing dead already with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}, because Weiss had flopped it with the {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The {6-Hearts} river even gave Weiss a straight flush and Kamenka was not amused at all.

This Should be Fun

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

On the four-way flop of {3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}, the action checked around to Anthony Giangrasso and he bet 2,000 to receive a call from Guillaume Bacri in the big blind only, Clement Tripodi mucked and Gilbert Diaz was not in the hand but completes an interesting table line-up.

The {6-Hearts} turn saw no betting action before Bacri then fired 3,000 after the {2-Diamonds} river. Giangrasso tanked for a while, took off his sunglasses and eventually called to muck to the {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} of his opponent.
