Lecomte and Claren Eliminated

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Quentin Lecomte
Quentin Lecomte

It is now certain that there will be a new Unibet Open champion.

David Hefner had raised and was called by Anders Claren in the big blind. On the {6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop, Claren check-raised all in after Hefner had made a continuation bet worth 23,000 and was snap-called.

Hefner: {9-Spades}{10-Spades}
Claren: {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Both had hit top pair with a gutshot and the {7-Diamonds} turn completed the straight for Hefner while his fellow countryman now needed a ten or seven to stay in the tournament. It was the {4-Hearts} river that ended his run in 41st place though and another seat open occurred at the very same time only a few meters away.

Quentin Lecomte open-shoved from the button for what looked like 140,000 over on table 2 and Jussi Heikels from one seat over moved all in himself for slightly more chips. The player in the big blind got out of the way and they tabled their cards:

Heikels: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Lecomte: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The Finn improved on the river of a {5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{K-Spades} board and that was also the last action of level 16.

Cirtog out in 48th

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In real time the bubble is already burst, however Cristian Cirtog was on the feature table and just now hit the rail. It was somewhat unfortunate for the Romanian to find {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, as Florian Ferroni had been running like god on the feature table and sure enough picked up the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} in the very same spot as well.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and that ended Cirtog's tournament just shy of the money.

Seat Open for Csiszar

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Matyas Csiszar
Matyas Csiszar

In a battle of the super short stacks, Matyas Csiszar and Jussi Heikels clashed with the Hungarian at risk for 71,000 chips.

Heikels: {Q-Hearts}{A-Hearts}
Csiszar: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop improve the hand of the Finn and the {2-Clubs} turn and {J-Spades} river changed nothing whatsoever. Once the stacks were counted, Heikels had his opponent covered by just about one big blind.

Rapp Runs into Aces

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Eric Rapp was all in for what looked like nine big blinds and Vinod Jadav snapped him off with the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}. Rapp only held {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and the board ran out {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Rapp was eliminated in 43rd place for a min-cash worth €2,210.

First Two Seat Open

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

There was a bad beat story on the feature table that you can see around 20:15 local time due to the security delay and then Koen Lahousse was also sent to the rail in a hand against Zsombor Gall. The Belgian called a min-raise of Gall out of the big blind and check-called a bet on the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop before check-raising the {10-Diamonds} turn for 140,000. Call!

Gall: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Lahousse: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts} river was a blank and the Belgian headed to the payout desk.

Hjelm is the Bubble Boy

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Bubble Boy Herman Hjelm
Bubble Boy Herman Hjelm

Herman Hjelm opened to 25,000 from the button and Mehmet Ongorur three-bet to 65,000. Hjelm tanked for a long time and the one minute of consideration was called on him. With 10 seconds to go, the Swede shoved and Ongorur called it off.

Hjelm: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Ongorur: {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to counterfit the hand of the Swede and the bubble had burst in cruel fashion.

Bubble Time as Anderson Hits the Rail

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Spoken too soon. Only two minutes after the previous post, Johnny Anderson shoved for less than 15 big blinds from early position and was called by David Hefner from one seat over. Anderson held the {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and Hefner the {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, some groans emerged on the {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts} flop.

However, the {A-Diamonds} on the turn changed things back as they were preflop and the {9-Spades} river bricked. Hand for hand mode is now enabled with around 20 minutes left on the clock for level 16.

47 Players left

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

You know the drill, the feature table live stream will provide the necessary information in about half an hour from now on. In real time, the field has been reduced to 47 players and there are about 22 minutes left in the current level. If the bubble (46 left) is reached prior to the end, play resumes and then goes into the dinner break when the money is reached.

Rodrigues and Leone Double

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Paulo Rodrigues doubled up for his last less than six big blinds with {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} versus {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} thanks to a board of {K-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}.

A few minutes later, Giuseppe Leone open-shoved from early position for 153,000 and Hans Petter Secker called with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. As soon as the Norwegian spotted the cards of his opponent, he sighed, still with the headphones on. Leone had found {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and doubled on a board of {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

A Small Dent in Amran's Stack

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Salah Amran raised to 23,000 from the cutoff and called the shove of Kimi Heiskanen for what looked like 13 big blinds with the {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Heiskanen had that beat with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and then had to endure a sweat on the {7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} flop. Amran got excited for a second as the {K-Diamonds} fell on the turn before realizing it gave the Finn a straight.

The {4-Spades} river bricked and there are still 48 players remaining.
