De Jong Eliminated

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Dehlia de Jong
Dehlia de Jong

Dehlia de Jong walked up to the media row with a sad look on her face, followed by her brother with a comparable sad face. Down and out, so much was clear, and De Jong filled us in on the details of her bust out shortly after.

She was down to about 25,000 when she got it in before the flop with {Q-}{Q-} against {A-}{J-}. Her opponent hit an ace and send De Jong packing.

"I'm gonna go outside to kick something" she said with a wry smile. We'll surely see more of De Jong in the future, just not in this Unibet Open Malta main event unfortunately.

Lucky Double for Vuoksenmaa

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Unibet Open regular Jorma Vuoksenmaa just doubled up through his neighbor Jeroen Buls. Vuoksenmaa got it in before the flop with {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and was already getting up to make his exit after Buls showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

The flop came {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{A-Hearts} and Vuoksenmaa sat back down again. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn and {Q-Hearts} on the river made things official, and he doubled his 16,900 stack. Buls still has well over 40,000 left.

O'Kearney Eliminated

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Action folded to Rafal Zgadzaj on the button and he opened. Dara o'Kearney over in the small blind pushed all in for his last 6 big blinds. The big blind folded, Zgadzaj made the call.

Things weren't looking too good for O'Kearney as his {K-Spades}{9-Hearts} was up against {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. The {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop only made things worse for the Irishman, and the {4-Spades} on the turn and {2-Hearts} on the river made things official. O'Keanrey out, Zgadzaj up to 120,000.

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jerry de Vries and Mateusz Moolhuizen
Jerry de Vries and Mateusz Moolhuizen

Kristof Segers was the one opening and the small blind three-bet. Big blind Jerry de Vries cold four bet jammed for about 30,000 and Segers over shoved. The small blind folded.

Segers had the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} while De Vries tabled {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. The board ran out {3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

De Vries wasn't overly sad, telling us he had already gotten lucky beating {10-}{10-} with his {A-}{3-} just before.

Dalil Masaud Bad Beated Out of the Tournament

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Under the gun Tuukka Meklin raised to 3,100 and the hijack called before Dalil Massaud shoved from the cutoff for about 17,000. Meklin reshoved and the hijack folded.

Tuukka Meklin: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}
Dalil Massaud: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Spades}, giving Meklin a flush draw. Meklin had Massaud drawing dead on the {2-Spades} turn, the {A-Hearts} on the river was there just to make things official.
