Big blind Clint Sammut and middle position Cor de Jong got their stacks in the middle before the flop. De Jong had the best of it with as Sammut tabled . The board ran out and De Jong doubled.
From the cutoff, Julien Aretuse raised to 5,100. Small blind Auke Attema shoved all in for about 60,000 and big blind Lauri Laanvee called all in for about 40,000. Aretuse didn't hesitate a second and called to put both players at risk.

After a raise to 5,000 it was Miroslav Hrivnak three-betting to 12,000. His neighbor Pekka Ikonen cold four-bet to what appeared to be 24,000 and the blinds and initial raiser all folded. Hrivnak shoved all in for about 44,000 and Ikonen snap called.

The board ran out and Moolhuizen had to give 66,400 of his well earned chips to Seppala. Moolhuizen had already lost 30,000 earlier to day, so it's fair to say he isn't having the start he must have hoped for.
Boris Kuzmanovic, who started out as one of the shortest stacks in the room, pushed all in for 11,100. Action folded to Daniel Thaller in the small blind and he three-bet to 25,000. The big blind immediately released.

Day 2 of the Unibet Open Malta Main Event starts at noon (in about 90 minutes). A total of 93 players return to Casino Malta to battle it out for the trophy and €65,000 first place prize.
The first hurdle to take will be reaching the money. A total of 36 players receive a minimum cash of €2,000, which means 57 players go home empty handed today.
