Baltateanu Busts Cornea

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The next two players to forfeit all their remaining chips were Cristian Tardea and Sergiu Cornea. The latter three-bet shoved out of the big blind with the {K-Spades}{J-Spades} and Silviu Baltateanu as initial raiser called with the {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The board of {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} left Cornea drawing dead on the turn and Baltateanu celebrated the win as usual with very loud table talk in Romanian.

Hjulstrom Grinds Up Stack

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Before the break Bartlomiej Gorzolka had doubled through Alexander Ioan with {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} versus {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} when he flopped second pair and turned trips to hold against Ioan's open-ended straight draw.

Another player to run up his stack today is Linus Hjulstrom and the name may ring a bell. The Swede finished runner up to Quentin Lecomte in the 2013 Unibet Open Cannes Main Event and started with one of the bottom stacks today, but has since moved up considerably.

Marius Pertea

Short stack Jorma Vuoksenmaa shoved out of the small blind with {K-}{6-} and Christopher Heidelbacher called in the big blind with {A-}{8-} to immediately spike an ace on the flop.

Over on table four, Mihail Rablou raised from early position and picked up a caller in Marius Pertea. The flop fell {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Rablou continued for 17,000, Pertea raised to 53,000 and instantly called the shove of Rablou for more than 220,000.

Mihail Rablou: {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Marius Pertea: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor the {6-Diamonds} river were of help for Rablou and he was gone, too.

Vukovic Sends Allard to the Rail

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Stephane Allard
Stephane Allard

Robert Vukovic's raise late position resulted in the shove of Stephane Allard out of the big blind. The Belgian had barely played any hand and his stack had plummeted to fewer than 10 big blinds, which Vukovic called.

Stephane Allard: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Robert Vukovic: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop gave Vukovic more outs, as did the {7-Hearts} turn, and the {2-Hearts} river completed a back door flush for the Croatian to eliminate Allard.

Vukovic Also Busts Markov

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Anton Markov raised on the button and Robert Vukovic defended his big blind to see a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. A check-raise led to Markov's stack going into the middle of the table and Vukovic called, both players flipped over top pair.

Anton Markov: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Robert Vukovic: {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {6-Diamonds} turn was a sweat, as any seven or eight would improve Markov. However, the {3-Diamonds} river was as blank as it could get and the Bulgarian also joined the rail.
