Popov Eliminates Ciocov

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Catalin Ciocov was recently ousted in 60th place for €2,300. He jammed from under the gun for 41,000 and got a few folds before Slaven Popov called from the small blind.

Catalin Ciocov: {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Slaven Popov: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Ciocov was already out of his chair even before he saw what Popov was holding. He was behind the flop and never caught as he stared down at the table as the {2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} ran out on the board.

Start of Day Chip Leader Aleksi Himanen Eliminated

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Aleksi Himanen entered the day as the chip leader after starting the day with 303,000 in chips. After an initial surge of chips early on in the day to push his stack north of 400,000, his fortunes changed and he began bleeding chips.

His final demise began when Stefanita Fechete jammed from the small blind for about 200,000. Himanen tanked for a short time from the big blind before he decided to call and put his remaining stack of around 120,000 at risk.

Stefanita Fechete: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Aleksi Himanen: {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Himanen was slightly ahead heading into the flop but fell very behind after the {10-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} came on the flop. Himanen's fate was sealed after the {8-Diamonds} on the turn and the {3-Diamonds} on the river did nothing to improve his hand and headed to the cashier to collect the 65th place prize of €2,300.

Tudose Chips Up with a Four-Bet Shove

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Andrei Tudose
Andrei Tudose

Andrei Tudose opened to 18,000 from the cutoff before Ionut Decher three-bet to 55,000 from the button. The action folded back to Tudose who four-bet jammed for about 220,000.

Decher, who had his opponent covered, went into the tank for several minutes and appeared to be counting off some chips. Eventually Decher decided to fold and Tudose got a big boost to his stack without seeing a flop.
