Keown Off to a Good Start

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

One day ago, John Keown finished 3rd in the €330 Deepstack Open and received €6,114 as per a four-way deal and he now battles against Unibet Poker ambassador Dara O'Kearney, among others.

Keown was in a big pot just now, in which he faced a pot-sized bet of 15,000 by Greg King on the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts} river. Eventually, Keown tossed in a single chip for the call and King announced king ten, revealed the {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Keown had that beat with {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for flopped two pair and King said "nice hand," to which he replied "you had me worried."

The esports Crew Arrives

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Along with Unibet Poker ambassador Fredrik Bergmann, most of the esports Battle Royale XI participants walked into the tournament area and took seats on different tables. On the {A-Spades} turn, her opponent check-called a bet of 600 and the {2-Hearts} river was checked. White showed the {9-Hearts}{7-Spades} and her opponent held the superior {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

Maschmann's Stack Cut Down

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The stack of Christin Maschmann has taken a big hit before the break and the German was kind enough to provide the details. According to Maschmann, she raised to 600 first to act with pocket jacks and was called by Ovidiu Tureac on the button. On a {5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Maschmann continued for 1,200 and Tureac called, what followed was the {10-Hearts} turn and a bet of 2,800 by Maschmann. Tureac opted to raise to 6,000 and Maschmann called.

After the {K-Clubs} river, Maschmann check-called a bet of 7,000 and was shown pocket fives for a full house.

Petterssen Doubles With Kings

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante
Unibet Open Chips
Unibet Open Chips

There hasn't been any crazy action in the first two levels just yet, but the second all in showdown just took place over on table three. Joris Hermans had reraised to 1,500 and Daniel Pettersen then clicked it up to 3,500. Hermans moved all in and Pettersen snap-called.

Daniel Pettersen: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Joris Hermans: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Petterssen had little to fear as he immediately spiked top set on the {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, and he locked up the double with the {10-Diamonds} turn to make the {3-Hearts} river a formality. Petterssen doubled for 19,575 and Hermans' stack was cut down to one third of what he started with.

Rinkevicius First to Bust

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

It took until mid-way through level two for the first player to bust and [Removed:402] has been unfortunate enough to run out of chips on the same table as Gunnar Wedde, David Lappin and Quentin Lecomte. Wedde and Michael Conaty are the two current chip leaders on that table, the latter just taking on Lecomte in a bigger pot.

Lecomte had climbed back to more than the starting stack and defended his small blind against Conaty. On the {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} river, Lecomte checked and Conaty forced a fold with a bet of 4,500 into a pot of 5,800. The Irishman, who final-tabled the Irish Open in 2016 (2nd place) and 2017 (8th place) is once again off to a good start on home soil.
