Back-to-Back Double Ups

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Over on the outer tables, Michael Brock four-bet all in with the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and had a flip against the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} of Elias Vaaraniemi. The board came {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{A-Spades} and the stack of Vaaraniemi was cut in half.

The next hand, Brock got it in again and this time faced Pierre de Montesquiou, who was all in for 331,000 with the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Brock was dominated with {A-Spades}{10-Spades} and the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} board changed nothing whatsoever, Brock lost the chips he had just gained right away.

Elias Vaaraniemi Eliminated in 24th Place (€3,000)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Elias Vaaraniemi
Elias Vaaraniemi

A big stack not long ago, Elias Vaaraniemi has suddenly been eliminated in 24th place after running horrendously since the redraw took place.

In yet another all in showdown, he had Sean Foley on the ropes with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} versus {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and even turned top pair only for Foley to river a straight in unlikely fashion on the board {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Then, Vaaraniemi was all ion with {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} soon after and Patrick Clarke took the flip with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. This time, the board came {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and the king on the river spelled the end for Vaaraniemi.

Jari Hurri Eliminated in 23rd Place (€3,350)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jari Hurri
Jari Hurri

Down to just 79,000, Jari Hurri was all in from early position and Paul Jux Holderness called on the button.

Jari Hurri: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Paul Jux Holderness: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The Brit flopped top set on {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, leaving Hurri to four nines in the deck. Neither the {A-Diamonds} turn nor the {4-Clubs} river provided any help and Hurri was eliminated in 23rd place for €3,350.

Massive Double for Ellis

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a big three-bet pot on the feature table, Andy Black on the button with {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Joseph Ellis in the big blind with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} headed to the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{A-Clubs} turn with already 369,000 in the middle. Ellis bet 150,000 with 287,000 behind and Black moved all in for 494,000, Ellis called after some consideration and Black only had two outs in a massive pot.
