Nutu Out; 42 Remain

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Ionut Nutu open-shoved 91,000 in middle position and Frederic Philippe also shoved from the small blind.

Ionut Nutu: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Frederic Philippe: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

"Give me that ace!" cheered Nutu but the dealer dealt a devastating {6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop instead. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn made the {8-Spades} on the river inconsequential and Nutu said his goodbyes in 43rd place.

Simpson Slipping

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

On the turn with the board {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, it was Ian Simpson in the big blind who checked to Stefan Kloet on the button. Kloet bet 23,000 and Simpson called it.

The {3-Spades} river prompted a 45,000 bet from Kloet and Simpson, with 105,000 behind, folded after a minute of deliberation.

Eliminations in Level 13

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

These are the players that fell by the wayside in level 13 and just missed out on a money finish, including [Removed:402], Koen Roos, Tomasz Kozub and Toby Locke. With the bubble now coming close, action has slowed down across all tables.

Day 1a chipleader Charly Grenet also was among the latest to bow up. Grenet was down to 52,000 when his aces got cracked in unfortunate fashion. He was all in against the {7-}{6-} of Toni Ojala but the board ran out {A-}{5-}{9-}{8-}{2-} to improve Ojala to a straight.

Sinclair Drags a Big One

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

Lars Meysman raised to 9,000 from under the gun, Jack Sinclair three-bet to 27,000 in middle position and Meysman called. Both players checked the {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop.

The turn brought another {10-Clubs} and Meysman bet 30,000, which Sinclair called. The river was the {3-Spades} and Meysman checked. Sinclair cut out a bet of 49,000 and the Belgian called within ten seconds.

Sinclair tabled {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for trip tens and Meysman mucked his hand. The Brit now wields one of the largest stacks in the room.

Eszter Fabian Accidentally Eliminated

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Eszter Fabian
Eszter Fabian

From under the gun, Eszter Fabian shoved her last 29,000 in the middle. It got folded to Anton Haggblom in the small blind, who, unaware of Fabian's shove, raised to three times the big blind. Once realizing there was already an all-in, Haggblom put in the extra chips to match the 29,000.

Jamie Munro gave it some thought in the big blind, given the situation, but decided to give up his hand.

Eszter Fabian: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Anton Haggblom: {10-Spades}{4-Spades}

"I didn't see the raise," Haggblom apologised in regards to his optional holding. The hand was still drawing very live, though, and the dealer dealt a {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop to give Haggblom the lead. The Finn sealed it with the {4-Hearts} on the turn, rendering the {K-Hearts} river moot. Fabian kept her composure as she made her way to the exit 13 places before the money.

"That's how you win tournaments," stated Haggblom.
