Quick Exit for Cunliffe

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

In a battle small blind versus button, Christopher Cunliffe got his last 11,600 or so in preflop and was in need of help, as he headed into the showdown with the inferior ace.

Christopher Cunliffe: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Daniel Aberg: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop made things worse for the Brit, and he tapped the table in defeat as soon as the {3-Hearts} appeared on the turn, which made the {J-Clubs} river a formality.

Game Over for Shautsou

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Piotr Shautsou returned from dinner with around one third of the starting stack and got the remainder of his short stack in with the turn showing {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Petrache Dumitru quickly called and tabled the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a set, leaving Shautsou drawing to clubs flush draw only despite having flopped top pair and top kicker with {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The river was the {J-Diamonds} and that was it for Shautsou.

Radulescu Eliminated

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Sorin Radulescu was down to as low as 3,000 and spun up that stack to around 16,000 for the dinner break. After coming back from dinner, he had a fresh pizza waiting and was done with all but the last slice when he ended up all in and at risk on the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} turn.

His opponent was Nikolay Ponomarev, who tabled {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for the overpair, while Radulescu had chop and flush outs with {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. The {Q-Diamonds} on the river was not what he was looking for and that spelled the end for Radulescu.

Gravdal and Samuelsson Chip Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Eirik Gravdal successfully jammed up his stack after he created a big pot against Martin Soukup. There were 35,000 in the middle and the board showed {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts} with Soukup having checked out of the big blind. Gravdal jammed for around 18,000 and Soukup double-checked the board twice before letting go.

Bjorn Samuelsson also boosted his stack without showdown one table over. Dan Murariu had raised to 1,000 and the Swede three-bet to 3,000. Levente Pal and Murariu came along and headed to the {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. Once the action had checked to Samuelsson, he bet 3,500 and that ended the action right there.

Vaeisaenen Rising

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

On the heads-up turn of {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Gilles Huet faced a bet of 6,500 into a pot of 7,000 with Johannes Vaeisaenen as the aggressor. Huet folded the {10-Spades} face up and the Finn flashed {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a big draw.

Soon after, Vaeisaenen took on James Noonan and a pot of 22,000 emerged to the {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Noonan checked in the blinds and called a bet of 7,500. The {7-Clubs} turn went check, check, and the {K-Hearts} followed on the river. Noonan checked once more and Vaeisaenen jammed for 32,000 to force a fold from the Irishman.

Pal Eliminated by Trustram

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

The board was all but rushed away and Ferenc Pal headed out of the tournament area, his {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a pair of sevens still showing. It was no good, though, as Leon Trustram held {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} for an overpair and shrugged when he raked in the pot.

"That was a good timing," he said when Adrian Nica in the four seat glanced over.
