Slow Action

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

In the penultimate level of the night, the action has slowed down with barely any big pot being played. One of those few pots escalated between Peter Kaae and Tomas Ksenevicius, and the latter lost a decent chunk of his chips when folding to a check-shove of Kaae. Their table broke right after and both headed to a new table, finding themselves suddenly seated next to each other along with big stack Nikolay Ponomarev.

Razvan Bizera, who held the lead in the break, uses his big stack to open a lot of pots with mixed success. Picking up the blinds and ante once then saw him open to 1,500 in the cutoff and he received two calls. Ionut Voinea in the big blind made it 7,000 to go and that won the pot.

Olejnik Cracks Aces

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Picking up the action on the heads-up flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Tomasz Olejnik in the hijack checked and subsequently called a bet of 5,000 by Eirik Gravdal on the button. The {4-Spades} followed on the turn and Olejnik checked once more. Gravdal bet 12,000 and immediately faced the shove of Olejnik for 29,800. After some consideration, the call followed and Gravdal was in need of help.

Tomasz Olejnik: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Eirik Gravdal: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

The best hand preflop was no good anymore and the {J-Hearts} river came up blank to put a big dent into Gravdal's stack, while Olejnik climbed the leaderboard.

Lappin Vanishes; Gravdal Doubles; Nicolae and Clausen Win Pots

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Eirik Gravdal
Eirik Gravdal

David Lappin was down to half the starting stack the last time he was spotted in his seat over on table three and has since vanished. The Irishman will have to re-enter in the turbo heat 1c in order to claim a stack for Day 2.

Eirik Gravdal has avoided that fate for now, as he just doubled. Gravdal jammed for 9,900 over a raise to 1,300 by Adrian Neculae and a call by Tomasz Olejnik. Only Neculae called with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Gravdal held up with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} thanks to a board of {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Last but not least, Steffen Clausen won a pot off Padraig O'Neill when he check-shoved the {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts} turn for 17,500 when facing a bet of 4,000 by O'Neill, as the Irishman folded.

Norel and Niste Trade Chips

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Mihai Niste bet the {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop for 3,000 and Eduard Norel called to see the {10-Clubs} on the turn. Both players checked and Niste then bet again for 6,500 on the {5-Hearts} river, Norel called instantly by tossing in a single chip.

Niste turned over {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top pair and a busted flush draw, while Norel claimed the pot with {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for the wheel.

One Gravdal Down

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Eirik Gravdal is still in contention, but his brother Anders Gravdal has just been eliminated. Conny Regnell and Bjorn Samuelsson have been left very short as of recently, which also applies to Per Helge Gassand. On the same table, Georgios Tavoularis three-bet shoved for 21,000 into an open raise by Dan Murariu and got through with it.

Big Stack Alerts

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Several players are gunning for the Day 1a chip lead and Nikolay Ponomarev just strengthened his bid when he dragged in a pot without showdown against Dwayne Sluis. The latter bet the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} turn for 18,000 and Ponomarev check-shoved to force a fold.
