Vollers Busts Tardea

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Steven Vollers
Steven Vollers

Steven Vollers opened to 6,000 and Carmen Zainescu called from one seat over, as did Espen Uhlen Jorstad on the button. Cristian Tardea jammed for around 40,000 in the small blind and the jam of Vollers forced out Zainescu and Jorstad.

Cristian Tardea: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Steven Vollers: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The board came {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Vollers scored the knockout with the nut straight, dodging the flush draw of Tardea.

Hokkanen Busts; Zainescu Wins Flip

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jaakko Hokkanen
Jaakko Hokkanen

The field is shrinking further as just 81 players remain, and among those to bust recently were Tomasz Olejnik, Daniel Effendy, Andrei Boghean and Jaakko Hokkanen.

Hokkanen jammed the last 33,000 with {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} in late position and was called by Catalin Moraru in the small blind with the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and that spelled the end for the Finn.

Carmen Zainescu was also on the brink of elimination, as her {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} fell behind the {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of Amitai Or on the {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. However, the {8-Clubs} turn came to the rescue and the {3-Diamonds} river was a blank.

Drusca Downs Kull

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Kenneth Kull
Kenneth Kull

Down to the last 31,500, Kenneth Kull moved all in first to act and the action folded all the way around to Stefan Drusca in the big blind. He double-checked his cards and called instantly.

Kenneth Kull: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Stefan Drusca: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Kull was not optimistic at all, as he already stood up from his chair after the {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop. The {3-Hearts} turn and {8-Hearts} river indeed provided no help whatsoever and Kull headed out of the tournament area.

More For Tataru

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

James Noonan called the clock on Iulian Tataru and was then called to lose a bigger pot, which the two still talked about when the board was already rushed away.

Tataru said he would have called even without the clock called and Noonan replied "I think it was a good call." Tataru didn't agree, but was happy with the outcome, as he soared up even further on the leader board.

Nought for Noonan

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

James Noonan took another hit and soon after got the remainder of it in preflop with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for around 50,000. Corrie Romate had jammed for around 55,000 with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and the board came {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} to eliminate Noonan.

Carmen Zainescu also ran out of chips and she was joined on the rail by Andrei Tamaduianu, while Corentin Ropert has moved from 29,000 at dinner to 220,000 not even 90 minutes later.

"Switfty" Busts on Feature Table

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
John Pyle
John Pyle

Over on the feature table, John "Swifty" Pyle had been involved in many battles with Cristian Grecu and this time Grecu made it 5,500 to go with the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} in late position. Pyle called in the hijack with the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and the flop came {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Grecu bet 4,000 and Pyle raised to 12,000, the call followed.

On the {J-Clubs} turn, Grecu check-raised all in after nervously shifting in his seat and hiding part of his face with the hoodie several times. Pyle, who had bet 25,000, called all in for 109,500 in total with his top pair and gutshot. The river was the blank {A-Diamonds} and that spelled the end for "Swifty".

Grecu also overtook Evangelos Bechrakis in the counts on the feature table as well.

Radulescu Jams Into Sabau

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Sorin Radulescu faced a raise to 7,000 by Razvan Sabau and three-bet to 21,000 in the small blind, Sabau called. On the {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, Radulescu check-called a bet of 22,000 and did so again for 55,000 on the {2-Clubs} turn.

Radulescu then jammed the {J-Diamonds} river for around 140,000 and Sabau was sent into the think tank. The clock was called on him and one minute ran down without any decision, his hand was declared dead. Radulescu flashed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and dragged in the massive pot.

Swift Doubles Through Bera

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Katie Swift
Katie Swift

Down to her last 42,000, Katie Swift ended up all in and at risk with the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Lucian Bera called with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board provided no upset and Swift doubled.

"Nice hand," Bera sighed and tapped the table. It was just a small dent into his stack, as he remains well above the average.
