Rinne Ousted by Gala

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Domenico Gala checked the {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} turn and Toivo Rinne then bet 1,800 with around 7,000 behind. The check-shove by Gala followed and Rinne called it off.

Once Gala tabled the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, Rinne glanced at his cards from up close with a big smile on the face and said "I don't wanna show" before he exposed the {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}. The {2-Spades} river was a blank and the Finn vaulted out of his seat.

On the way out, he gasped "fuck, my beer" as the quick movement had actually drained the drink entirely on the floor, ensuring two beats in quick succession.

Le Boisselier Chips Up Further

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

In three-way action to the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} turn, Louis Le Boisselier made it 4,000 to go. Only Tomasz Brzezinski called and the {6-Clubs} river brought a fourth club on the board.

Both players now checked it down and Le Boisselier tabled the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for flopped two pair and a rivered flush with the jack as the winning hand.

Big Stacks and Bustouts in Level Seven

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Persent Joins the Biggest Stacks

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

With two players still involved to the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} turn, Jon Persent bet 6,000 and received a reluctant call by Antti Nieminen from one seat over. Both players then checked the {2-Hearts} on the river and Persent rolled over the {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for a nine-high straight.

Nieminen nodded and chucked his cards into the muck.

Rummukainen Adds More Chips

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Mikael Hernström raised to 2,000 on the button for Olli Rummukainen to defend the big blind. On a {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Rummukainen check-called for 3,100 and both then checked the {6-Spades} on the turn.

The {4-Hearts} fell on the river and Rummukainen now made it 4,000 to go. Hernström wasted little time before folding, exposing the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} in the process.

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The action commenced with a cutoff open to 1,700 by Lennart Dijkkamp and Tony Westby on the button made it 4,500 to go on the button. Both players in the blinds folded while Dijkkamp came along to the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop.

Once the Dutchman had checked, a quick continuation bet by Westby ended the hand right there.

Pasi Petteri Pirskanen

The next battle of the short stacks resulted in a preflop contest in which Pasi Petteri Pirskanen was the player at risk for a mere 6,500 against Filip Dielis.

Pasi Pirskanen: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Filip Dielis: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Pirskanen seemingly locked up the double on the {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop but had to endure a sweat on the {j-Diamonds} turn. However, the {9-Diamonds} river was a blank and both stack sizes were near even after it was all done and dusted.

Up and Down for the Xanthopoulos Brothers

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Pavlos Xanthopoulos bowed out in a battle of the short stacks with Tomasz Brzezinski when his {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flopped two pair only for his opponent to flop a set holding the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Brzezinski prevailed with sevens full of fours.

Christos Xanthopoulos then raised to 1,700 and called a shove by Andreas Hagen to set up the following showdown.

Andreas Hagen: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Christos Xanthopoulos: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} runout improved the Greek and reduced the field further.
