Flashback: Alexandre Le Vaillant Triumphs in 2023 UDSO Marrakech Main Event

Level 7 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Alexandre Le Vaillant
Alexandre Le Vaillant

After a heads-up battle that lasted just over an hour, Alexandre Le Vaillant emerged victorious in the 2023 Unibet DeepStack Open Marrakech Main Event. Le Vaillant defeated Tristan Forge in an exciting heads-up battle that saw the chip lead exchange several times before Le Vaillant seized the victory to collect the first-place prize of 625,000 Moroccan Dirhams (€57,926).

Le Vaillant began the day as the chip leader and was firmly in the driver's seat for the early stages of the day as the field dwindled from 16 players down to the nine-handed final table. Le Vaillant did fall to the middle of the pack a few times during the final table but always managed to surge back up to the top of the chip counts each time. The French Pro moved over $500,000 in career tournament earnings, with this win being his second-biggest career cash.

On the Q92 flop, Pedro checked to Zouiten who jammed his remaining 80,000 and Pedro snapped it off.

Birdemir Eliminates Goyard in Brutal Fashion

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Mayis Birdemir opened to 15,000 from early position before Christophe Goyard jammed for around 45,000 from middle position. Birdemir did not take long before he put in the call, as he revealed he had only looked at a 3x and his other card was a mystery.

Christophe Goyard: A10 All in
Mayis Birdemir: Q3

The KJ4 flop was a safe one for Goyard as he picked up a gutshot to go along with ace-high. However, the 3 fell on the turn to give Birdemir a pair, but Goyard had additional flush outs. None of these came to fruition on the 3 river as Birdemir improved to trips to eliminate Goyard who was sent to the rebuy cage.

On the J75 flop, Sylla continued for 30,000 and Hdach quickly called.

The turn brought the 5. Hdach checked again and Sylla did not slow down as he put out a bet of 60,000. Hdach once again called.

The repeat J peeled off on the river. This time, Hdach became the aggressor as he led all-in for 127,500. Sylla went deep into the tank as he contemplated his decision. Ultimately, he opted to call and the hands were tabled.
