Truquens Crosses Two Million Mark in Day 2 of the Unibet Main
Just two more days of competition remain in the Unibet Open Main Event, with 62 players remaining from the 853 entries that were accrued across the four Day 1 flights, as well as the first three levels of Day 2.
Leading the way following the second day of action here at Casino de Marrakech is Truquens. The Spaniard managed to bag up a whopping 2,060,000, which converts to 103 big blinds for the beginning of Day 3. He took the chip lead midway through the day, and didn't look back once. Filippo Lazzaretto finds himself just behind in second with 1,955,000, and just behind in third is Romain Lewis (1,600,000)

As is always the case, not all were able to navigate the day, with plenty of players falling short during play. WSOP Bracelet winner Jonathan Therme fell shy of the money, as did Sonny Franco, Malcom Franchi and Unibet Poker Ambassadors Margaux Ponnelle and Alexandre Reard, the latter falling just moments before the money bubble.
The bubble itself was burst relatively late on, as Aitor Cruz held against the big slick of Antoine Nassiri to ensure a 25,000 MAD payday for the 111 remaining players.
Neither Fausto Munz nor Corentin Ropert were able to find a bag, either, but they did score a payout before they headed home, scoring 25,000 MAD and 26,500 MAD respectively for their efforts. Shortly after, Antonin Teisseire, who bad been nursing a short stack for the large majority of the day, was unable to carry on doing so, and left with 28,000 MAD
Day 3 resumes at 2:00 p.m. local time on October 3, with players coming back to Level 22, and blinds resuming at 10,000/20,000/20,000. Action is set to play down to a final table.
