Marchese Stirs the Pot on Table 2

Level 3 : 500/1,500, 1,500 ante
Tom Marchese
Tom Marchese

In a matter of three hands, chips were flying everywhere on table 2. Stephen Chidwick opened to 3,500 and was called by Ryan Riess in the small blind and David Peters in the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} and the action checked around to the {9-Hearts} on the turn. Riess led out for 6,000 and was raised to 19,000 by Peters. Chidwick folded and Riess called to see the {q-Spades} on the river. Riess check-folded to a bet of 25,000 from Peters.

In the next hand, Tom Marchese opened to 4,500 on the button and Bryn Kenney three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind. Marchese splashed in a four-bet to 37,000, only to have Kenney move all in. Marchese quickly mucked his hand and moved on to the next one.

Riess opened to 4,000 and Marchese re-raised to 11,000. With the action back on Riess, he four-bet to 29,500 and Marchese announced all in. Riess called and the cards were on their backs. Marchese was out front with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Riess would need to hit an ace holding {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Marchese doubled up, leaving Riess with next to no chips. Riess would go on to bust just a couple of hands later.
