Schindler Staying Hot

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,500 ante

Jake Schindler is coming into Event #7, with three cashes under his belt so far and is sitting in third place in the race to become the US Poker Open champion. He will need to continue running well if he were to have any hope of catching the leader, Stephen Chidwick.

Schindler opened with a raise on the button and Adrian Mateos three-bet to 10,500 from the small blind. Sean Winter folded the big blind and Schindler made a four-bet to 27,000. Mateos took a brief moment and then five-bet jammed all in which Schindler quickly called.

Jake Schindler: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Schindler was in a commanding position to win the hand with Mateos drawing to just the three remaining aces in the deck. The board ran out {5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} and when the chips were counted, Schindler barely had Mateos covered.
