Shak Gets Coolered by Tollerene

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

All the chips went in the middle on the flop of a {2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board as Ben Tollerene had Dan Shak all in and at risk. Shak knew he was in trouble when he called off for his tournament life but his {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} was too strong to through in the muck. His instincts were right as Tollerene tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and a {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} runout ended Shak's run in the US Poker Open.

Tollerene Gets Value from Shak

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ben Tollerene opened to 10,000 from under the gun and was called by Dan Shak in the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Shak check-called a bet of 7,000 from Tollerene.

Shak checked again when the {9-Clubs} landed on the turn which led to Tollerene firing another 25,000. Shak continued to call and the {8-Clubs} completed the board. Shak checked for the third time and Tollerene tossed in a bet of 60,000. Shak snapped him off and Tollerene tabled {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for two pair. Shak's cards flew into the muck and Tollerene raked in the pot.

Tilston Shoves on Green

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

There looked to be around 150,000 already piled up in the middle when Keith Tilston shoved on the river of a {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} board. Tilston's heads-up opponent, Barry Green, had checked and was sitting in the tank. Green utilized a time bank chip before eventually finding a fold.

Negreanu Holds to Double Through Tilston

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Keith Tilston opened to 9,000 under the gun and then watched Daniel Negreanu bump it up to 42,000 in the small blind. Tilston quickly moved all in and Negreanu called just as quick, putting himself at risk.

Keith Tilston: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Daniel Negreanu: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

A race was underway for Negreanu's tournament life as the dealer laid out a {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades} board. Negreanu's jacks held and earned him the double up.

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Keith Tilston
Keith Tilston

We picked up the action on the turn with the board reading {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs} and both, Daniel Negreanu in the small blind and Keith Tilston under the gun, checked their options.

The {5-Hearts} landed on the river and Negreanu led out for 160,000 into a pot of around 100,000. Tilston thought for a brief moment and then made the call. Negreanu tabled {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for just ace-high while Tilston had not much better, with {a-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a pair of deuces. Tilston was able to scoop a sizeable pot and take Negreanu down a notch.

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The board read {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} with around 70,000 in the middle of the pot. Bryn Kenney checked from under the gun and Dan Shak threw in a bet of 25,000. Kenney made the call and the {5-Clubs} completed the board.

Kenney checked again and this time Shak checked behind. Kenney tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a pair of jacks and Shak wasn't able to beat it as he sent his cards to the muck.
