Smith Can't Find a Fold; Busts to Foxen

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Alex Foxen opened with a raise to 9,000 from under the gun before Dan Smith three-bet to 28,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to Foxen who called.

The flop was {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Foxen checked to Smith who continued for 35,000. Foxen called.

On the {7-Hearts} turn, Foxen checked again. Smith made it 65,000. Foxen called once more.

The river was the {k-Clubs} and Foxen checked a third time. Smith then put out a bet of roughly 104,000, leaving himself with one red T1,000 chip behind. Foxen quickly announced that he was all in. Smith laughed, made a confused face, shrugged, then called.

Smith showed his {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Foxen turned over his cards, first revealing the {a-Hearts} then just after the {8-Hearts} for trip eights.

"I wonder when someone is going to bluff doing that," Sean Winter said after the hand.

"I was excited because I thought he was going to fold," Foxen said. "I was going to show the ace of hearts and that's it."
