PokerGO Point Standings Leading Into 2021 US Poker Open; Imsirovic Leads
Back in April, poker streaming service PokerGO announced a series of high-stakes poker tournaments in 2021 with a new points system that promised "will separate and celebrate the most elite professional poker players" while rewarding the top three finishers shares of $175,000 in prizes.
Dubbed "The PokerGO Tour," the events counting toward the leaderboard will include some 150 tournaments at buy-ins of $10,000 or more throughout the rest of the year. With a dozen big buy-in events, the 2021 US Poker Open, which is happening now, is sure to rock the leaderboard, but before it does, we thought we'd take a look at the current standings headed into the USPO.
Here’s how things stack up as of May 30:

Ali Imsirovic has been on a tear, winning five events and taking the top spot on the PokerGO Tour leaderboard as the US Poker Open comes to the Aria Resort and Casino for twelve high stakes events from PokerGO Studios.
In addition to Imsirovic, Sean Perry and Chris Brewer round out the top three players on the tour’s leaderboard going into the USPO. Perry was vaulted into second place by a Memorial Day weekend win in the $25,000 High Roller event at the Venetian’s Deepstack Championship Poker Series. Brewer has built on an early tour win with an impressive series of paying finishes that have added up to just over $1 million in prize money.
The PokerGO Tour uses a points system that rewards players for the amount of money earned in each event. The points are based on a percentage of the prize money won in three different buy-in brackets, with events from $10,000-$24,999 getting points that are equal to .1% of every dollar earned. Events with buy-ins from $25,000 to $99,999 will award .06% and tournaments that are $100,000 and up will hand out .03% of the total win in the form of tour points. Points for cashes beyond $1,000,000 are rounded up to the next million and they top out at a $5,000,000 win. At the end of the tour, the top player will receive a $100,000 bonus as the PokerGO Tour Player of the Year.
Top 10 PokerGO Tour Leaderboard Breakdown
- Ali Imsirovic has dominated the tour so far with five wins and a grand total of twelve cashes. Imsirovic isn’t just winning, he’s winning the largest events on the tour so far. He won a $50,000 event at the Aria High Roller series, and three of his other four wins have come in $25,000 events, including back-to-back victories at the Aria. Imsirovic leads the field with $1,977,460 in earnings and 1,416 total tour points.
- Sean Perry is the only other multiple event winner on the PokerGO Tour, with victories at the Aria High Roller and the Deepstack Championship Poker Series at the Venetian. His inaugural PokerGO Tour run includes back-to-back second-place finishes to Imsirovic in $25,000 events at the Aria. Perry’s five additional cashes bring his total earnings to $1,693,618 and he has 1,150 tour points.
- Chris Brewer’s win came early at the Aria High Roller series in the third event on tour, where he beat a field of 21 entrants to claim the $113,400 first prize. Brewer sits in third place on the PokerGO Tour leaderboard on the strength of his win, a runner-up finish in the $25,000 Aria High Roller series where front-runner Imsirovic prevailed, and an additional nine cashes for a total of 763 tour points and $1,082,100 in earnings.
- Sean Winter comes into the 2021 USPO in fourth on the PokerGO Tour leaderboard after nearly taking the USPO series title in 2019. Winter’s tour victory came at the Aria High Roller series in a $25,000 event and his nine cashes give him a total of $939,090 in earnings and 665 tour points.
- Sam Soverel took down the fifth $10,000 event on tour at the Aria High Roller and has six total cashes, including a runner-up finish at the $50,000 Super High Roller event of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. The 2018 High Roller of the Year and 2019 Poker Masters champion has amassed $786,398 in event earnings and a total of 534 tour points so far this year.
- Shawn Daniels has one win in four cashes on the PokerGO Tour so far, taking down the second High Roller event at the Venetian’s Deepstack Championship Poker Series. Daniels placed second in the first event at the Venetian and joined the long list of players who have been runner-up to Ali Imsirovic on tour this year. Daniels has $551,500 in earnings and 523 points on tour.
- Brock Wilson is the only player in the top ten without a victory, but his five cashes include two runner-up finishes and two other top-five placements. A second-place finish in a $50,000 Aria High Roller series event helped propel him to a total of $695,186 in earnings and 487 tour points. Wilson is no stranger to the winner’s circle, having won a $10,000 event at the Wynn High Rollers in December of 2020 just prior to the start of the tour.
- Chad Eveslage won the $25,000 High Roller tournament at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in Hollywood, FL to best the tour-high field of 145 players for a prize of $767,576 and 461 tour points. Eveslage is off to a hot start in 2021, having already won an event at the WPT Lucky Hearts Open at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida.
- Jake Schindler’s four paydays include a win in a $25,000 event, a second-place finish in a $10,000 event, and third place in the $50,000 event, all at the Aria High Roller series for a total of 444 tour points and $638,408 in earnings. Schindler is a consistent force in high roller events, having won over $25 million in his career.
- Arthur Conan’s big win came at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown’s $50,000 Super High Roller event. The victory brought Conan $733,320 and 440 tour points, good for 10th place on the overall PokerGO Tour leaderboard. Conan is coming back to live poker after a very strong 2020 Online WSOP, where he cashed in ten tournaments.
The 2021 PokerGO Tour is slated to include over 100 events with buy-ins of $10,000 or more throughout the rest of the year. After the USPO, the tour will go on through the Summer with two brand new events, the PokerGO Cup and the PokerGO Heads-Up Championship, as well as the Wynn Summer Classic and other high roller tournaments at the Aria and the Venetian.
The tour continues in the Fall with the Poker Masters and the Super High Roller Bowl, with a bonus of $100,000 at the end of 2021 to the Player of the Year.

Sam Soverel Leads Final 6 in USPO Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha
Sam Soverel will head into the final table of six players with a commanding chip lead in the USPO Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino after bagging a massive stack of 3,480,000 in chips on the opening day.
This will be the second U.S. Poker Open cash this festival in as many events for Soverel who already took 12th place in the USPO Event #1: $10,000 No Limit Hold'em for $19,000.
His cash in this event will be at least twice as much with the final six already locking up $39,000 with their eyes on the $175,500 top prize.
Soverel was not only the only player with more than 3 million in chips to start the final table but will also be the only player over 2 million with Dylan Weisman (1,735,000) and Marc Brody (1,185,000) being the only other players to bag more than 1 million in chips.
Joining this trio at the final table will be Jordan Cristos (645,000), Matthew Ploof (640,000), and Maxx Coleman (440,000).

Event #2 Day 1 Action
The USPO Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha attracted 65 entries to generate a healthy $650,000 prize pool with 10 players cashing for at least a min-cash of $19,000.
Players were in the money after Joseph Sanders sent Shawn Daniels packing on the bubble in 11th place. Sanders hit the rail near the end of the day in eighth place for $26,000 with Ben Yu (ninth - $26,000) and Johan Guilbert (tenth - $19,000) already on the rail.
The action progressed to an unofficial final table of seven players before the day ended with Alex Foxen claiming the seventh-place prize of $32,500 when his 
ran into the 
held by Brody.
