Over the course of two days, 373 players from Day 1A and 696 players from Day 1B have been whittled down to just over 200, and they will combine today at the Citywest hotel in Dublin on their quest to run deep in this year's Winamax Poker Open Main Event.

As is to be expected, there are still a whole lot of Frenchmen and women still in the field, including Team Winamax Pros Bruno Lopes, Sylvain Loosli, Gaelle Baumann, Romain Lewis, Davidi Kitai, Aladin Reskallah and Ivan Deyra.

Lopes is in fact the chip leader, and is the only player over 800,000 in chips. Yesterday's chip leader Laurent Decauwert is slightly behind him on 750,000 and we will be keeping an eye out for the pair of them.

There are still a smattering of Irish players among the remaining players, with tournament regular Dara O'Kearney sticking around alongside compatriots Jude Ainsworth and Liam O'Donoghue.

Action gets underway at 12 p.m. local time. Level lengths are increased to 50 minutes on Day 2.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the live updates here on Day 2.

The shuffle up and deal has been announced by Winamax Live Event Manager Matthieu Duran, wishing good luck to both short stacks and big stacks.

The plan for the day is to play 12 50-minute levels, or play down to the final three tables (18 players). There are currently 231 players remaining in the tournament.

In the first hand of the day on the feature table Winamax Team Pro Bruno Lopes raised to 16,000 from under the gun and fellow Winamax Pro Romain Lewis three-bet to 51,000 in the big blind.

Lopes called and the flop came {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Both players checked. The turn was the {4-Spades} and both players checked again.

The river was the {q-Clubs} and Lewis bet 88,000. Lopes called but mucked when Lewis showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

We said at the beginning of the day that Bruno Lopes and other players with large stacks would have to be on the lookout for Winamax Pro Davidi Kitai, who came into the day with a healthy stack.

Well his stack is even healthier now after eliminating a player.

A player opened and a short stack at the table moved all in for 60,000. Davidi Kitai then moved all in for 700,000. The initial raiser, whose stack was around 200,000 decided to call for his tournament life.

Kitai held {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} while both of his opponents showed {a-}{j-}. The flop came all spades and Kitai held on to scoop the pot and eliminating two players.
