Tournament Area in the Mandalay Room

It has been a stunning success for the return of the Winamax Poker Open after a hiatus of three years and the series at the Casino Gran Madrid in Torrelodones on the outskirts of the Spanish capital convinced with incredible numbers. Most certainly standing out is the 2022 Winamax Poker Open Madrid €500 Main Event, which will play down to a winner as of 12.30 pm noon local time today.

Out of a record-setting field of 2,182 entries, only 24 players remain and they will be aiming to secure the top prize worth €130,000 in the biggest six-handed live poker tournament of French online poker and sports betting giant Winamax. Only five different countries are represented with Spain and France sharing most of the final contenders.

Samuel Anclevic Bifarella leads the way with a stack of 9,500,000, which is good enough for 79 big blinds when the action resumes with 25:16 minutes remaining in level 37 at blinds of 60,000-120,000 and a big blind ante of 120,000. Close behind are Adrian Garcia Marin (9,000,000) and Nicolas Vayssieres (8,505,000) while Pierrick Letalleur (7,915,000) and Omar Del Pino (6,650,000) round out the overnight top five.

Lithuania's Gytis Juskevicius (6,000,000), Day 1d chip leader Joaquim Marques (4,430,000) of Portugal and Adriano Abbracciavento (3,400,000) from Italy will aim to avoid a victory for Spain or France, which appears to be likely at this point.

Notables still in the mix include Julien Da Silva (4,380,000), Hugues Mazerolle (3,785,000), as well as the two Spanish poker veterans Juan Manuel Pastor (2,830,000) and Sergio Alonso Camunas (635,000).

All 24 finalists have locked up a payday of €4,500 so far and the next payday awaits after the next elimination. Reaching the seven-handed final table will secure a cash of at least €19,230 and the pay jumps from there on will certainly be significant.

The final day will be broadcasted on the Winamax Twitch and YouTube channels. Furthermore, the PokerNews live reporting team will also be on the floor from start to finish until a winner has been crowned in the record-setting 2022 Winamax Poker Open in Madrid.

Adrian Garcia Marin raised from an early position and Sergio Alonso Camunas three-bet jammed out of the big blind, having invested two of his five blinds due to the big blind ante format already. Garcia Marin called and the cards were tabled.

Sergio Alonso Camunas: {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Adrian Garcia Marin: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} board provided no help to the Spaniard and he became the first casualty of the final day.

Lesoif Gets Shorter; Busts to Mazerolle

Level 38 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante
Sebastien Lesoif
Sebastien Lesoif

Sebastien Lesoif defended out of the blinds and check-raised the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop from 260,000 to 800,000 against Kevin Mastrosimone. The initial raiser then jammed and Lesoif folded to get shown the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}, which sent him spinning for a few seconds.

Very shortly after, Hugues Mazerolle raised and instantly called the three-bet shove by Lesoif for around 2.4 million.

Sebastien Lesoif: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Hugues Mazerolle: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Both Frenchmen bumped fists and Lesoif improved to a set on the {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} flop. The {10-Clubs} turn bricked but the {8-Spades} river gave Mazerolle the winning flush. Lesoif was eliminated in 23rd place for €5,450.

On the {8-Hearts} turn, Anclevic bet 1,300,000 and Abbracciavento folded for Anclevic to reveal the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for two pair. Nothing changed on the [Kc6 river and Alvarez was eliminated in 20th place.

Level 39 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Adrian Garcia Marin
Adrian Garcia Marin

The last hand on the outer tables provided fireworks in a single-raised pot to the three-way flop of {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Kevin Mastrosimone checked out of the big blind and Adrian Garcia Marin then bet 275,000 in the cutoff. Nicolas Vayssieres raised to 815,000 on the button only for Mastrosimone to check-shove as the biggest stack of the trio.

Garcia Marin called all-in and Vayssieres folded.

Adrian Garcia Marin: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Kevin Mastrosimone: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The middle set was up against top pair and flush draw. Nothing changed on the {5-Diamonds} turn and the {6-Spades} river locked up the double for the Spaniard for 4,275,000.

Kevin Mastrosimone
Kevin Mastrosimone

In a battle of the blinds, Mathieu Lamagnere made it 465,000 to go and Kevin Mastrosimone then pushed for what appeared to be 3,700,000 in order to get quickly called by the new table big stack.

Kevin Mastrosimone: {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Mathieu Lamagnere: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop provided the open-ender for Mastrosimone but he bricked the {10-Spades} turn and {j-Diamonds} river to bow out in 19th place.

There will now be a short break to redraw for the final three tables.
