A Quick Glance at Team Winamax Late on Day 1

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Gaelle Baumann was among the later entries on Day 1a and had joined some time before the dinner break. She wasted little time to run up a profit and currently sits in second place of all Team Winamax Pros. Pierre Calamusa is the table captain and has more than nine times the starting stack while Top Shark winner Loic Debregeas can also be found in the Mandalay Room as well.

Former Winamax ambassador Jonathan Therme is in, Alejandro Romero and Guillaume Diaz are, however, out.

Late Night Casualties in the Main Room

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mehdi Kechiche was spotted on his way out of the tournament room and Manuel Martins followed. The Portuguese was part of a double knockout in which his {a-}{9-} went up versus another short stack's {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} and the {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} of Alexandre Molina Galan.

On a board of {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Spades}, Molina Galan made the best flush to add a few chips to his middling stack.

Two Doubles for Jefredo

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Pierre Jefredo doubled for 32,000 with {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} versus {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} when the {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} board delivered the overcard right away on the flop.

He was then all-in for 66,000 and flipped once more. This time, he was looked up by Alexandre Molina Galan to set up the following showdown.

Pierre Jefredo: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Alexandre Molina Galan: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

The {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} runout kept Jefredo in contention once more as he climbed out of the red zone.

Remaud Eliminated by Bouvier

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Jean-Charles Remaud
Jean-Charles Remaud

"The blinds have priority," the tournament director confirmed with the dealer which could only mean one thing. One player had just lost the vast majority of the chips and was forced all-in out of the blinds.

That happened to be Jean-Charles Remaud after a clash with Titas Gancierius and he was all-in for the final 3,000 out of the big blind. He then faced the raise to 8,000 by Sylvain Pujol from under the gun and the button call by Gancierius.

Alexis Bouvier squeezed to 50,000 in the small blind and isolated successfully.

Jean-Charles Remaud: {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Alexis Bouvier: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

"I had king-queen, no worries it's a standard play," Pujol told Bouvier in French. The {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades} board kept jacks in the lead and Remaud exited late on Day 1a.

Late Double for Negron; Milhoes Unhappy

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Christian Ly was involved in three-way action and pushed the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} river when checked to by Mario Milhoes as the only remaining opponent. Milhoes was visibly upset and tank-folded as Ly's late surge continued.

Moments later, Marc Negron pushed for 46,500 in the small blind and Milhoes called from one seat over.

Marc Negron: {k-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Mario Milhoes: {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop improved Milhoes and Negron vaulted out of his chair, then sat back down on the {4-Diamonds} turn and the {a-Diamonds} river was a blank. Milhoes' mood darkened even more and their table broke shortly after.

Late Casualties in the Main Room

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Only some 78 players remain on Day 1a and some former big stacks are no longer among them. Hugo Legrand and "Tsunamy", for example, were spotted on the way out as their early rise to the top of the leaderboard brought no joy at the end.

Pereira Pulls Ahead of Bouvier

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

With a pot of 100,000 to the {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} river, Alexis Bouvier checked in the big blind. Daniel Pereira bet 70,000 on the button and that sent Bouvier into the tank for half a minute. He then tossed in a single chip for the call and Pereira tabled the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. That was good as Bouvier mucked the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to drop behind Pereira on the leaderboard.

Dana's Done Very Late on Day 1a

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dennis Berglin
Dennis Berglin

Alexandre Dana called his one time when he was all-in for what appeared to be around 90,000. He was up against Dennis Berglin and they were flipping for it.

Alexandre Dana: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Dennis Berglin: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} board delivered no joy for Dana and he promised to be back the next day.

Calamusa Adds More Chips

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Pierre Calamusa
Pierre Calamusa

Pierre Calamusa arrived with two racks to his new table after the previous one in the Mandalay Room broke. He soon after defended the big blind against a button raise by Remi Parpillon and they checked the {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. Calamusa bet the {10-Spades} turn for 15,000 and that won the pot right away.

He then took a selfie with his new Spanish table neighbour and joked to be chip leader after Day 1 only to bust on Day 2. Guess that prediction will be deciphered in the next hour and upcoming few days.
