Blavoux Blasts Into Aces

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a battle big blind versus cutoff, Gregory Blavoux took on Pablo Herrera Medina and fired the {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} turn before jamming the {6-Clubs} river. By then, the pot had grown to around 85,000 and Herrera Medina went into the tank.

Once the call followed, Blavoux flipped over his cards and due to the force used, they tumbled over near his opponent. The dealer grabbed them, exposed the {9-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a bluff gone wrong and Herrera Medina tabled his {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} right after. After paying off the double worth 56,200, Blavoux was left with a few chips and a chair to lose the former right after.

Upcoming Dinner Break and Chip Race

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Out of a field of 530 entries, only 198 players remain and the tournament staff has just once more confirmed the upcoming dinner break. They also suggested that the chip leader at each table would buy the T-100 chips in order to facilitate a single transaction for the chip race in the break as well.

Big Double for Milosavljevic

Slobodan Milosavljevic

With more than 60,000 chips in the middle and a bet and call worth 16,000 after the {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop pulled in, Ignacio Molina pushed on the {6-Diamonds} turn for more than 150,000 and was instantly called by Slobodan Milosavljevic to shudder immediately.

Slobodan Milosavljevic: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Ignacio Molina: {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The Spaniard, known for his love of ducks and almost always sporting one as mascot on the table, asked for a black king. Instead, the {3-Hearts} river only provided an inferior pair. Milosavljevic doubled for 110,300 to put a major dent in the stack of the Spaniard.

Dana Wins in Showdown

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Just before their table was about to break, Junda Zhan Zhu limped the small blind and Alexandre Dana checked in the big blind. Zhan Zhu led the {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop for 5,000 and the {7-Hearts} turn for 12,000, both of which Dana called. They then engaged in table chat and Zhan Zhu guessed the hand of his opponent to be queen-five. Dana suggested to check it down and that was indeed what happened.

Zhan Zhu exposed the {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a busted flush draw and Dana won the pot with the {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Ben Yahia Eliminated by Da Silva

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Emmanuel Da Silva checked out of the small blind on the {k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades} river and Simon Ben Yahia then pushed all-in for what appeared to be 60,000.

"I call," Da Silva immediately said and added in French that he was afraid of king-queen. As Ben Yahia exposed the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, Da Silva had that beat with the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} for the superior kicker and scored the knockout.

Diaz Loses It All to Remaud

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Guillaume Diaz
Guillaume Diaz

Guillaume Diaz was among the chip leaders when he moved to the Mandalay Room and stayed near the top of the leaderboard for a long time. However, things then went south. As he explained, Jean-Charles Remaud had ace-king plenty of times.

Ultimately, Diaz was down to 15 blinds and got it in with the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to lose a flip against the pocket fours of Remaud.

The Frenchman continued the heater thereafter and fired three barrels against Xabier Bolinaga Martinez on a board of {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Bolinaga Martinez called for 12,000 on the flop and 10,000 on the turn, then folded the river when he faced a hefty bet of 75,000. Remaud flashed the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} as he dragged in yet another pot and entered the dinner break with the lead.
