At the end of the previous level, Mehdi Kechiche was spotted in a decently-sized pot in which he bet the river for 10,000. His sole remaining opponent called and mucked upon being shown the for the top set as Kechiche chipped up early on Day 1c.
Robert Robinson had amassed a large stack early on and he was on the verge of scoring yet another knockout.
Somehow, Bruno Laroche was all-in for around half the starting stack with the and Robinson looked him up with the . The board ran out and the mighty pair held for Laroche.
In the Mandalay Room, several players have been off to a decent start and that includes Moundir Zoughari, Timothe Marlin and Alexane Latifou.
Sergio Nieto followed suit after he cold four-bet jammed in the small blind for 37,725. Marlin snap-folded but Majid Boukezzoula asked for a count and came along.

The board changed nothing and Nieto earned the double in a rather unusual preflop contest.
Following a raise by Sebastien Guidez and a three-bet to 7,500 by Jose Budia Alvarez, the four-bet to 16,500 by Guidez followed. However, the dealer mistakenly tossed the all-in triangle to Guidez who in fact had chips behind and didn't declare all-in.
Budia Alvarez already "called" and exposed his for everybody to see and the floor was called. Eventually, it was ruled that the hand was live and Budia Alvarez had just called the four-bet with all options still remaining for both players.
Almost in motion with the flop coming , Budia Alvarez had already pushed all-in and Guidez folded the face up.
The cards were on the back in a preflop contest in which Anne-Maud Mura was all-in for a shorter stack and tabled the . She was flipping versus and Jose Arroyo Benito came out on top after the board.
After the hand was over, the Spaniard and Ben Khaled Sayfedine talked through the hand and Arroyo Benito admitted he would have had a decision to make if Mura had not jammed but instead Sayfedine got involved.
Either way, Sayfedine remains below the starting stack while Arroyo Benito has started well into Day 1c.
In a battle of shorter stacks, Daniel Welbers was the effective player at risk for what appeared to be just over 9,500. He tabled the and was up against Dominique Richon with the from one seat over.
The kicker played on the board and that spelled the end for Welbers.
In a three-way pot that kicked off with a raise by David Vie and a call by Julien Robinot, the player from one seat over then three-bet to 3,000. Both table big stacks called and opted to check the flop. The button continued for 2,300 and that was all it took to shake off Vie and Robinot.
Nicolas Jahan had doubled just before the first break but since lost quite a few chips. The latest hand saw him squeeze to 3,800 in the big blind only for a new arrival on the button to click it back to 8,500.
Jahan folded and was shown the for a move that went through. Despite losing this pot, the Frenchman still holds the biggest stack at the table but others are pushing for his role of the table captain.
