Petre Ionescu raised to 170,000 from the button and Luis defended in the big blind.
The 9♦3♥8♣ flop saw Luis check-call a bet of 190,000 from Ionescu.
The 6♣ turn prompted Luis to check again. Ionescu fired once more, this time for 345,000 and Luis relinquished his cards into the muck.
Hugues Girard in the cutoff opened to 165,000 and was only called by Anas Tadini on the button
Both players checked the 6♣4♠K♣ flop, leading to the J♦ turn where Girard bet 200,000. Tadini snap-called.
They quickly checked the 7♦ river and Girard flipped over 10♦9♠. Tadini had A♣Q♦ and won the pot.
The cutoff raised to 250,000, Anthony Palomba three-bet jammed for 1,200,000 from the button and the big blind called off the bet for his last 390,000. The original raiser folded.

The board ran out in dramatic fashion as the flop fell 2♠Q♠10♠ giving the big blind a set. However, the 7♠ turn and J♠ river improved both players to a flush and the pot was chopped, keeping both players tournament run alive.
On the feature table, Hadrien "zChance44" Gallois opened to 140,000 from under the gun, and he was called by Mohammed Ali Guessous on the button and Matthieu Lamagnere in the big blind.
All three of them checked the J♠7♠J♣ flop, leading to the 10♠ turn where Lamagnere led out for 250,000. He was called by zChance, while Guessous folded.
On the 5♥ river, Lamagnere shoved for 630,000, and Gallois went deep into the tank. It took a few minutes for Gallois to eventually fold with K♦J♥. Lamagnere had 6♠5♠ for a flush.
Shortly after doubling up in a previous hand, Romain Lewis was all in again, shoving for his last 1,360,000 from the hijack. Diogo Duarte, on the button, covered Lewis and moved all in himself. Soufiane Messadek, in the big blind, snap-called and had both players at risk.

The K♠Q♥10♦ flop gave Lewis two pair and put him in the lead while pairing up Messadek to put him in pole position for the side pot. The 9♠ turn and 7♠ river confirmed Lewis' triple up. Duarte lost the side pot to Messadek and was sent to the rail.
Cards went on their backs on Table 2 with Romain Lewis in the big blind at risk for 680,000 against Soufiane Messadek in the small blind.

The player under the gun raised, Valentin Pinault three-bet to 320,000 from the hijack and Luigi Macaluso cold four-bet to 1,000,000, from the button. The original raiser folded and Pinault called.
Pinault checked at the sight of the K♦2♥8♥ flop. Macaluso moved all in, instantly, for Pinault's effective stack of 1,100,000 and Pinault went deep into the tank.
Unfortunately, one-half of the PokerNews team cannot speak French, so the nearly seven minutes of table talk exchanged between Macaluso and Pinault was missed. As translated later by a neutral player at the table, Pinault was reported to have said "Either I bust or I have four million chips", without showing concern for laddering. Pinault made the call.
