Patrick Miangu opened to 600 from the button, and was met with a three-bet to 2,500 from Julien Masse in the big blind.
Miangu made the call to see the A♥9♣3♥ flop, where he called a continuation bet of 1,400 from Masse.
The 2♠ turn and 6♠ were then knuckled through, and Miangu's A♠8♠ for a pair of aces was good versus Masse's 10♦9♦ for second pair nines.
A pot of 14,000 had developed by the turn on a board of 7♣3♠2♠2♦, in a hand between Nathan Ostins in the cutoff and Yann Grichting on the button.
Ostins checked, and then folded after a bit of thought in the face of a bet of 7,000 from Grichting.
There was 2,500 in the middle on a flop of 6♥6♦3♥, and Romain Jalibert in the cutoff checked to Cyrille Coste on the button.
Coste put out a bet of 1,300, and Jalibert called to see the 9♦.
Jalibert checked once more, and Costa sized-up with a bet of 5,300. Jalibert thought for a moment, but folded in short order, and Coste showed Q♥Q♠.
