Chaplin Bluff-Catches

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A pot of 9,600 had developed by the river on a board of K10828, and Maxime Chaplin was pondering a bet of 10,000 from Romain Delcamipe.

Chaplin called and Delcamipe immediately mucked, and Chaplin showed Q8 for trip eights.

Levy Secures Three-Bet Pot

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Franck Ruiz opened to 1,600 under the gun, and Regis Levy responded with a three-bet to 5,100 from the button. Action back to Ruiz, who called.

The flop came 10104, and Ruiz check-folded without ceremony in the face of a continuation bet of 4,600 from Levy.

Three-Bet Pot for De Soultrait

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Victor Chervel opened to 1,600 under the gun, and was faced with a three-bet to 4,800 from Etienne de Soultrait on the button.

Action folded back to Chervel, who called to see the AJ2 flop.

He checked to De Soultrait, who slid out a bet of 3,200. Chervel had a quick peek at his cards, presumably to see if he held a diamond, and quickly folded.

Ajdini Four-Bet Jams

Level 6 : Blinds 300/700, 700 ante

Suat Ajdini opened to 1,700 from the cutoff, and was met with a three-bet to 5,000 from Jules Sahagian in the small blind.

Joseph Sapone cold-called in the big blind, before Ajdini promptly shipped his 41,200 total stack into the middle.

Neither of his opponents thought long before sending their hands to the muck.

Gallois Good at Showdown

Level 6 : 300/700, 700 ante
Hadrien Gallois
Hadrien Gallois

Around 8,000 was in the middle on a flop of 765, in a hand between Hadrien Gallois under the gun, David Labrosse in the hijack, and a player on the button.

Gallois checked, and Labrosse slid out a bet of 2,800. The button called before Gallois produced a check-raise to 11,000. Only Labrosse called.

The 5 hit on the turn, and Gallois fired again, this time with a bet of 8,000.

Labrosse called to see the 9 river, which was quickly checked through.

Gallois showed 109 for the rivered two pair, nines and fives, and Labrosse was frustrated to see Gallois had got there versus his A7.

Is Shiina Okamoto Becoming a Poker Superstar? | PokerNews Podcast #915

Level 4 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

In the 915th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz are once again joined by Ben Ludlow to talk the latest stories and highlights from the poker world. That includes back-to-back WSOP Ladies Event champ Shiina Okamoto, who was back to her winning ways after taking down the Women's Event at the recently-completed EPT Barcelona. Is it time to start mentioning her name when talking about the G.O.A.T.s of the game?

Speaking of the EPT Barcelona, David Coleman had four runner-up finishes there, while Thomas Eychenne took down the EPT Barcelona Main Event for €1,217,175. It was actually in that tournament that PokerNews spotted Jesse Yaginuma and James Carroll, the two friends who caused quite the controversy over the summer in the WSOP Millionaire Maker, seated next to each other. Strange coincidence, that.

From there, Chad offers highlights from his Wisconsin hangout with Phil Hellmuth, who then went ot New Hampshire for a "Beat the Champ" weekend that saw Brandon Cantu emerge victorious. Hellmuth also remembered the late, great Poker Hall of Fame tournament director Jack McClelland.

Speaking of winners, Grant Hinkle, Nick Rigby, and Maurice Hawkins all took down titles, which are recapped in this episode and inspired Mike to share a Rigby story of his own. Also, a preview of the upcoming PokerGO Tour (PGT) Venetian Las Vegas Classic.

Finally, remember PokerNews is giving away a seat in the World Tournament of Slots (WTOS). You could have an approximate one in 500 chance at a $1,000,000 top prize. Click here to learn more about the WToS.

The 2025 Winamax SISMIX Main Event at the Casino de Marrakech delivered one of its most suspenseful finales to date. With a record-breaking 3,390 entries, predicting a winner was nearly impossible as chips changed hands constantly throughout the final day.

In the end, it was patience that proved decisive and Jérôme Crantz mastered it best to become the champion after a tense and closely fought battle with Jean-Côme Haye. Both players had held the chip lead at various stages during Day 3, but it was Crantz who ultimately claimed the trophy and the top prize of 1,700,000 MAD (approximately €163,122). Haye earned 1,200,000 MAD for his runner-up finish, while Spain’s Dario Alonso completed the podium with a third-place payout of 900,000 MAD.
