Alban Vormese was getting up out of his chair, and his chips were being moved to Neil Guellal, after Vormese's 7♦7♠ came unstuck against Guellal's A♠Q♣ on Q♦2♠2♦Q♥6♠.
Around 42,000 was in the middle on a completed board of 10♠7♣4♠5♣A♠, in a hand between Jerome "JPL" Pradal under the gun, and Alexandre Bouchama in the cutoff.
Pradal fired out a bet of 19,500, and Bouchama took quite a bit of time before folding.
The tournament director has confirmed play is scheduled to come to a close in Day 1c when the field is reduced to 191 players, with 390 currently still seated.
Players must put chips in a bag to qualify for Day 2 and be guaranteed a minimum cash.
Level: 15
Blinds: 1,500/3,500
Ante: 3,500
Christophe Benete opened to 6,000 from the cutoff, and Jimmy Metzger defended the big blind.
On the A♦8♥2♠ flop, Metzger check-called versus a continuation bet of 4,500 from Benete.
The same pattern followed on the 7♣ turn, this time in respect of a bet of 12,500 from Benete.
The 10♥ river completed the runout, and Metzger checked once more.
Benete pulled the top of his Olympique Marseille training jersey up over his mouth and rested his head with his hand under his chin, before moving all in with the covering stack.
Metzger had around 57,000 behind and looked pained. Suddenly he flicked in a calling chip after a relatively brief period of thought.
Benete tabled A♠7♥ for two pair, and Metzger was well behind with Q♥2♥ for fifth pair deuces.
Jerome Vittez opened to 6,000 under the gun, and received calls from Marc Holbing in the next seat, and Marc Szikman in the big blind.
The J♣9♣6♥ flop was checked to the 5♣ turn, where Szikman led out with a bet of 15,500, which only Vittez called.
The K♥ river completed the board, and Szikman took some time to think, before moving all in for 65,000.
Vittez, with 125,000 behind, thought it through for a bit, but ultimately folded.
Gregoire Gradat was all-in for around 60,000, and at risk against Louis Berard.
Gregoire Gradat: A♣7♣
Louis Berard: A♠J♥
Gradat was crushed, and he wished the table good luck after he bricked the Q♣4♥4♠9♥8♥ runout, Berard's jack kicker playing with his ace-high.
Late registration has now closed in Day 1c, with 1,157 total entries. The Day 2 cutoff will be provided once confirmed by the tournament director.
