Alonso Makes Set Against Aces
Level 10
: Blinds 700/1,400, 1,400 ante
Following a cutoff open-raise to 2,400, David Alonso called on the button and Julien Chahinian called in the big blind.
The flop came 2♥8♣10♠ and Chahinian led for 3,500. The original raiser folded and Alonso raised it up to 11,500. Chahinian then shoved for 50,000 and Alonso snap-called.
Chahinian shook his head, seemingly already aware that he was beat. He turned over A♣A♠ for pocket aces, while Alonso showed 8♦8♠ for a set of eights.
The turn came the K♦ and river the 9♥. Alonso held and near-doubled his stack, sending Chahinian to the rail.
