Moments later, he defended from the big blind after the cutoff opened to 600. Both players checked the K♠3♦4♦ flop, leading to the 2♠ turn that Dasbourg checked again.

The cutoff checked back, and the J♦ river didn’t bring more action. Dasbourg then flipped over 6♥5♠ for a straight. “I didn’t want to bet,” he joked. Value will have to wait…

The main poker room and the tent are now already full, with more than 110 tables and 700 entries recorded after the first two levels of Day 1b.

Day 1a’s total of 677 entries has already been surpassed, and the 1,000-entry mark for Day 1b could be reached soon. "You're going to have 1,100 entries easily today," the tournament director Mickaël Milliat confessed.

Tom Sagnal open-raised from middle position and Mahdi Belounis three-bet to 1,400 from the small blind, which Sagnal called.

On the 10♦2♥6♠ flop, Belounis led out with a continuation bet and Sagnal called. The betting continued on the 7♥ turn as Belounis bet 5,000 and Sagnal called.

The river came the 4♦ and Belounis asked to see his opponents stack before shoving all in for around 31,000 effective. Sagnal had seen enough and made the fold to give Belounis the pot.

Sagnal has since joined the list of early eliminations.

Arnaud Etchebarne open-raised and Mahdi Belounis clicked it back with a re-raise to 1,500. Etchebarne then four-bet to 5,200 and Belounis called.

The flop ran out 4♣2♥4♦ and Etchebarne checked. Belounis bet 4,000 and Etchebarne called. Both players then checked on the 6♥ turn.

The river came the 3♠ and Etchebarne led with a small bet of 2,600. Belounis looked hesitant, but eventually flicked in a chip to signify the call. Etchebarne flipped over A♥A♦ for pocket aces, two pair with the fours on board. Belounis mucked and Etchebarne won the pot.

The flop ran out K♦10♦3♦ and action checked to Roy, who bet 2,600 and only Amokrane called. On the Q♠ turn, Amokrane checked and Roy bet 5,700. Amokrane folded and Roy took the pot. Amokrane was left with less than half of his starting stack.

After an open by the player under the gun, Mathieu Choffardet to his left three-bet to 4,000. The button was the only one to call.

Choffardet continued for 3,000 on the J♦2♠4♦ flop, but checked the 7♥ turn. His opponent bet 5,000, and Choffardet check-raised to 40,000, more than the button's 21,400-chip stack.

The button went deep into the tank, but folded. Choffardet turned over the 10♣.

While Julien Sitbon was taking his seat at the table, Clément Van Driessche opened from the hijack and called when the small blind three-bet to 3,200.

Both players checked the 6♠9♣3♣ flop leading to the 3♥ turn where the small blind bet 2,600. It took a minute for Van Driessche to call.

On the A♦ river, the small blind asked for 8,300. Van Driessche eventually made the call, but sent his cards into the muck after the small blind revealed A♥K♥ for two pair.
