Flashback: Anthony Dasbourg Wins Record-Breaking Winamax SISMIX Main Event

Last year in Marrakech, the Winamax SISMIX Main Event solidified itself in the history books as the largest six-max event ever! After 50 levels of play, it was Anthony Dasbourg who bested the record-breaking field of 2,736 entrants to take home the trophy, title and 1,500,000 MAD.

Over a total of four starting flights, a considerable sum of 453 players were lucky enough to return to the tournament floor for Day 2. After an additional 19 levels of play, just 24 remained to battle it out on the felt on the final day.

Dasbourg came in with the chip lead and put on a clinical performance, eliminating four of his six competitors, to cruise to a win that looked like it was going to be his from the very start of proceedings.

“I don’t realize it, I’m still a bit euphoric and savoring the moment right now,” Dasbourg said moments after lifting the trophy. “It's a feeling of fulfillment. I've been playing poker for years to experience moments like this, and now I've made it to the end. It makes a huge difference to be first out of 2,736 players. It's exceptional.”

Dequidt Leads as 562 Players Return for Day 2 of SISMIX Main Event

The Winamax SISMIX poker festival reached new heights this year, attracting a total of 3,390 entries across four starting flights, way up from last year's 2,736 strong field.

The 2025 event has set the record for the biggest live six-max tournament ever held in the world, pushing the limits of the Casino de Marrakech at the Es Saadi Resort, despite an expansion that included the additional of several new rooms and a huge tent.

The field has now been whittled down to 562 players who are looking to make a deep run here on Day 2.

Leading the pack is François "POG" Dequidt, a supercar influencer whose style of poker is just as fast and furious as his driving. Behind his is Alexis Geffroy in second place and Samy Khaled in third, a top three comprised of french players. Spain, Portugal and Belgium are also represented in the top ten chip counts.

As Day 2 begins at 12 p.m. local time, the blind levels will be extended to 35-minutes, providing more opportunities for players to pick their spot and find their way to the final table. The full payout structure will be announced when play commences. The tournament is expected to play down to the final 24 today, although this has not yet been confirmed.
