Lobato Finds the Dream Spot With Ace-King
Level 8
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Three players were involved on a flop of 2♥K♠A♥, with more than 25,000 chips already in the middle. Sergio Lobato checked from the small blind and the big blind followed suit. The under the gun player then moved all-in for his last 19,000.
Lobato quickly reshoved, covering his opponent. The big blind took a few moments, double checked his cards, and ultimately folded.
Under the Gun: A♠Q♦
Sergio Lobato: A♦K♦
Lobato had his opponent in rough shape with top two pair against top pair. The 6♣ turn sealed his fate, and the 3♦ river was inconsequential. Lobato dragged a pot worth close to 65,000 chips, pushing his stack past the 100,000 mark.
