Carlos Mari Comes Out on Top in Raising War
Level 2
: Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
A player opened to 600 from under the gun and Carlos Mari called on the button. The big blind completed as well.
The flop came A♠A♦Q♣ and the initial raiser continued for 600. Mari called, as did the big blind.
On the 2♣ turn, the under the gun player checked, and Mari took the initiative with a bet of 1,100. The big blind called, while the original raiser folded.
The 5♠ river sparked fireworks. After the big blind checked, Mari bet 1,700. His opponent responded with a raise to 5,000 and without hesitation, Mari three-bet to 11,700 total. Following a brief pause, the big blind made the call.
Mari revealed A♥5♣ for a rivered full house, good enough to secure a pot worth close to 30,000 chips.
