Lafoz Forces a Flopped Straight to Fold, Then Tables the Bluff
A player in middle position opened to 2,500 and Team Pro CNP Joaquín Lafoz, called from the hijack. The big blind came along as well.
The flop came 10♦K♦J♥ and the initial raiser led out for 2,000. Lafoz raised to 7,000, prompting the big blind to fold, while the original raiser made the call.
The dealer turned the 4♣. Rather than slowing down, the aggressor fired 18,000 and Lafoz called after a brief pause.
The river paired the board with the 4♦, completing potential full houses and a backdoor flush. This time, the initial raiser checked. Lafoz seized the opportunity and bet 50,000, applying maximum pressure.
After some thought, his opponent folded A♠Q♠ face up for a flopped straight. Lafoz then revealed 9♣8♠ for a massive bluff, dragging a pot worth more than 100,000 chips and moving into the chip lead.
