Just a few days after the kickoff of the new season of the Winamax Poker Tour (WiPT) at Casino Grand Cercle in Aix-les-Bains, Winamax stayed in the French Alps for another edition of the Winamax Poker Open (WPO).
After a few years in Bratislava, the event took place at the exact same venue as last year for the first time, where Aix-les-Bains witnessed a huge achievement by Jeremy Cauchard, who took down the Main Event out of 2,566 entries for €165,000. Not only was the win itself impressive, but it was his second major Winamax title, after winning the 2024 WiPT and final-tabling the 2025 WiPT.

The 2026 WPO started this Tuesday with the €250, which drew 933 entries, 26% more than last year. A promising start ahead of the €500 Main Event, which begins this Wednesday, September 23 at noon local time with Day 1a. Across all four starting flights, players will start with a 50,000 stack and play through 30-minute levels down to the final 16.6% of the field, which will be in the money and qualified for Saturday's Day 2.
Re-entries are allowed, but players can only fire two bullets in the first flight, followed by one in each of the remaining flights. Late registration closes at the end of Level 13 (approximately 12:30 a.m.).
